Steelers WIN

Postby Slaughter2 » Sun Feb 05, 2006 4:32 pm

its 4:28 est

I am Broadway Joe here, Steelers win 21-17

Bettis possible last game
Cowher first win as head coach
Number 7 second youngest QB to get there
Bettis playing in his home town
One for the thumb
Crowd favorite
Vegas favorite (Vegas is 38-1 picking the winner)

Too many reasons not to win

DONE DEAL go home SeaHawks

you take out Alexander you take them out, their receiving core is laughable, and ohhhh did I mention Steelers haven't had a 100 yard rusher against them in ohhhh ummm NEVER lol

Gee, I wish my team could get 6 points for not actually scoring a TD.

If you freeze frame it while Rothlisberger is still in the air, just before his other hand hits the ground, the forward edge of the ball looks like its right on the front edge of the white endzone line. All it has to do any part of the ball cross any part of that white. It was close, down to what looks like an inch or less. It will be a controversy if the Steeler win, and win by a close score. But its not a blatant bad call.

Yeah a blatant bad call is involving a forward pass that is ruled incomplete when in all reality it was a fumble.

thought it was the ball that had to break the plane, not the body.

The forward edge of the ball came flush with line, I don't know if it crossed, fell short or what, but it was down to an inch or less IMHO. I hit the freeze frame during replay, it was a good camera shot, good camera angle, but I have no way of knowing if that camera is *exactly* centered on the forward edge of the goaline, or foot either way left or right. makes all the difference in the world, but that's football. It didn't matter in the end though.

BTW, tremendous play with Randal El tossing the TD on the gimmick play. That was sweet pass, good job on the receiver too, came in perfectly over the shoulder.

Congrats Slaughter! I do think your team got more than its fair share of breaks, but they did win the game. The ball crossing the goal line was close enough where they couldn't overturn it. But offensive pass interference on the TD to Darrel Jackson???? But anyway, it probably didn't make enough of a difference.

Me thinks this stat is not close to being correct.

Using the word "clearly" to describe that "touchdown" isn't entirely accurate, or honest.

It all came down to the original call on the field by the part-time ice cream salesman\NFL line-judge. If the original call had been "No Touchdown" there wouldn't have been enough evidence to reverse the call (if in fact it was as clear as you stated).

It's a shame that after the last game of the season everone is focusing on the officials. These guys made a slew of questionable calls, almost as if they were trying to make up for nearly butchering the Pitt - Indy game.

Pittsburgh won. I feel good for Bettis, but only if he finally effin retires. If he comes back again I'll feel no love for this guy.

If there's anything I feel strongly about it's that Pittsburgh beat the #1, #2 and #3 seed in the AFC on their route to beating the #1 seed in the NFC. That's nothing to sneeze at.
