The Seahawks had a slew a bad calls go against them, but they were still in charge of their own destiny. Look at the part they played in their own loss: *two* missed fieldgoals, Stevens dropped 3-4 passes including one that would have put them on the one yard line, that receiver that ran *two* routes in a row out of bounds by the endzone. The pick near the endzone. The messed up clock management toward the end. Even when Seattle picked the ball, watch the replay. The DB doesn't 'run out of gas', his blocker suddenly slows down and veer to the side...to pull his pants up. I kid you not, watch it again, the guy stopped playing 'cuz the crack of his ass was showing. Neither team was playing all that great, but Seattle couldn't stop shooting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile, the steelers put together some solid drives that got them points.

Seattle screaming like me when my chute wouldn't open in BF42 'ohbullfuckingshitmotherfucker!'

If you know how the rule applies to the 'end zone plane' it was clear in the air that Ben's arm and ball pierced the plane. Nuff said.

IRT the interference call: Jackson pushed the defender hard enough while the ball was in the air to make the guy rock back a little on his heels. You can't ignore that regardless of what they get away with in the regular season.

In closing I agree; Steelers RULE!

That happened after one of the worst 'holding' calls I've ever seen. Should have been first and goal. Oh, and lets tack on 15 yards because the quarterback TACKLED the guy who intercepted the ball. Btw, that all set up the cheese gimmick play for the TD.

Sorry, but this Super Bowl was entirely forgettable...as are both these teams. I just feel like an average team won the Super Bowl...certainly not the best team or a great one for that matter.

NFL films will have a hard time making a 25 minute highlight show from this debacle. A couple bad ref calls, a 75 yard run, some gimmick plays = Crapper Bowl XL.

But hey...we did have the sheep streaker commercial.

Steelers are much better than they played in the SB. Remember, they knocked off Indy and Denver to get here. Seattle was the lesser team IMHO. This wasn't the best SB I agree. Honestly, not just being a Pats fan, but the first Pat's SB win, vs the Rams was a great SB. It's not often that the underdog goes up against a really great team like the Rams were at the time, and wins in a tight game, decided by a kick with just a second or two on the clock.

Puh-lease... That was about as ticky-tack as you can get. You don't make that call in any game. I was waiting for Joey Porter to shoot off his mouth that the refs had it against...wait...nevermind...

The non-holding was just as bad.

And someone please explain how tackling a guy gets you a blocking below the knees call. Watch any football game... When the ball is thrown to a back or receiver in the flat, the half the time, the defender makes a similar tackle...I guess if you're a quarterback tackling the guy who just intercepted you...

That said...Steelers won. Seahawks didn't do enough to win the game. You have to play well enough that a couple of penalties don't affect the outcome of the game. Hasselbeck made a terrible throw. Randle El made an awesome throw. My Raiders were there...they bought their tickets in September.......

BTW. How's this for karma...after all the running of the mouths this week, Joey Porter was a non-factor and Jeramy Stevens drops 3 passes...

#99 pulled his hamstring on that play, he pulled up lame cuz he couldn't move his leg any longer not because his butt crack was showing. He did not return to the game.

LOL, that may be, but he was pulling up his pants with his right hand, I figured he felt his pant slide down and was trying to avoid embarrasment on national tv.
Well, that guy's hammy picked a pretty f*ing bad time to go, two more seconds of running and I think the DB would have gotten around the two Steelers and maybe gotten a TD.

A little side note: some people claim that there is a spike in domestic violence on SB Sunday. What they don't tell you is there is a spike in women going up their husbands after the big game and saying 'Oh What, are you going to sit around and act all whiny because your stupid team lost that stupid game???'
POW!

 just a joke, not advocating domestic violence, just having fun with how crushed a fan is after his team loses the SB. Lord knows, I felt like I was in a state of shock after the Pats lost to Greenbay in the SB.

ok, let's be fair ...

The big problem with Ben's TD is that the ref on the field didn't immediately call it a TD. He came in, didn't appear to talk to any other refereee, and in about five to ten seconds time called it a TD. Is his brain really that slow in processing what he saw?? I saw the replay and still cannot make a conclusion either way about that play.

Now the Jackson TD is the play I thought was called incorrectly. The defender interfered with Jackson just as much as Jackson interfered with him. Usually the defender gets flagged if a call needs to be made. However, they did not interfere with each other to the extent that anything had to be called.

I think Pittsburg would have won the game regardless, but it is nicer for all involved to not to have any referee controveries.

It would have been much nicer to have great officiating and no controversy. There is going to be a lot of stress over this, but I'm glad it wasn't a one or two point difference in the final score, 'cuz then the stress would be worse. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad Seahawks fans, I'm sure they would have liked to see how things would have been with better officiating.

I think there was only one questionable call last night, and it was the Jackson offensive pass interference. The Roethlisberger dive was challenged and reviewed and it turned out that the correct call was made out on the field, the call stood. Since you can't challenge penalties, the Seahawks couldn't challenge the pass interference call. I think it could have went either way. It would have been an interesting review if it was reviewable.

What about the non-holding penalty?

Or...the tackle by Hasselbeck that he was flagged for blocking below the knees? 15-yards for making a good tackle....
