Huge mistake, they've gone a bridge too far on this one. Vinatieri was key part of the Pat's formula, and they're going to feel it this time. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think this is the wheel falling off of the wagon.

I look at it this way;

Sure the Patriots losing Vinatieri sucks...but doesn't it suck more that the Colts lost Edgarin James?

The Colts take more gambles than they should, and it never seems to pay off. They're cashing in their chips on a fast moving passing offense, and not paying much attention to their running game.

Sure, Vinatieri will give them more confidence in some situations but not having at least the threat of a running game is going to put more pressure on Manning and his high priced receivers.

Vinatieri is just such a huge part of the equation. Two out of 3 SBs were won his clutch, last second kicks. And there's the 45 yarder in the snow vs Oakland. Plus it was all over a relatively small dollar amount. Pats were paying 2.5 mil, they could have kept him (with franchise tag) for 3 mil. 500k just isn't worth losing Vinatieri. I think we're going to feel it, I really do. I'm haunted by nightmares of 'missing sisson', the kicker we had a few years back.

If you want the truth. The Jets are gonna suck this year. But part of being a Jet fan is pushing that out of your head (for 20+ years now) untill the first game or two. When its the same old Jets again.

Hey Tony. if you can protect Ramsey, he will be a good QB for you. He will make mistakes, but usually doesn't have a entirely bad day. A lot of Skins fans wanted him to stay. He can be good if given a chance to be.
