When I was in high school we stole a piece of metallic sodium and a rectangular trash-can from the chemistry lab.

At 5PM we then placed the trash can in the (empty) schoolyard with the sodium in it, added a little water and went into hiding.

Sodium reacts violently with water.

Soon heavy smoke was pouring from the trashcan. A few minutes later here comes the janitor with a bucket of water which he gracefully empties in the trashcan.

BLAM!

Poor guy found himself on his ass 10 feet back, the trashcan was flattened (as when you cut up a cardboard box and lay it flat). Nobody was hurt but he got the scare of his life.

They always want you to take a greater interest in science....right up until the moment when you start blowing things up.

Here's something safer: dropping mentos mints into soda.

all you got to do is put an equal number of iron oxide shavings (rust) and aluminum shavings together and you got yourself some thermite. Anarchist cookbook FTW!!!!! :D
