He might be right... I am starting to get pretty burned out on all the games that I play except for Eve (which is an MMORPG).

Most of that article was just plain and simple BULLSHIT.
He left out more than he put in to make his point. He had a narrow view of the CONSOLE gaming market and barely touched upon the PC gaming market. There are more holes in his theory than are in a fishing net. For every single point he makes I could make at least one counterpoint.
My predictions? People are not bored with games, and more people will be attracted to games, not less. More people mature and have their own cash every day. The video gaming generation is still being added too every single day.

Good read. I think he makes a good point. I know at 29. My PS2 has an inch of dust on it. And there is no way in hell I will be getting PS3. Five of my good friends growing up all have a PS2 or Xbox. But none of them will be getting the next ones. It does seem that the console world is in for a rough patch. Maybe that will help the PC gaming world. More people to fill less jobs= better skilled workers. Less console games = more focus on the hard core group of MMORPG's and online FPS's.
Agreed allah, I own an xbox of my own and when it came to the 360 i just basically said "forget it, I am sticking with my computer." The computer offers the best graphics and the best playability IMO. If you look at consoles they are constantly trying to compare to a PC, so instead of trying to get in comparison... why not just get the PC and be done with the console.

I am very anxious for the ps3. I love my ps2 but have not played it much for lack of new engaging games, aside from the classics of GT4, the GTA series and the Ace Combat games. For now the PC has me hooked on bf2. I also have an xbox and that has alot more than an inch of dust. Microsoft had lots of potential in that machine but let the gaming community down with the lack of original and exciting games. I can't wait for the ps3, the only shitty thing is that when I get done buying the HDTV and ps3 it will have cost almost as much as a gaming rig.

That pic he said was 1 million in 100 dollar bills is bollocks. Each of those stacks has to be 100 notes which would mak 1 million just 100 of those stacks which by my reconing has to be about the first row on the bottom. So either those aren't 100's or there's a lot more that 1 million there.

That guy's a speed-typing, crack-addicted attention whore...
None of his arguments were anything mroe than the rantings of someone who apparently hasn't had enough attention from his mommie.
Scientific? Surely you jest.
Accurate? Not by a long-shot.
Meaningful? As much as 95% of the shit you see online.
I feel bad for his room-mates. Imagine waking up to that twerp day after day?

As much as I worry PC games are being abandoned, now I think maybe it's PC games that are going to survive and outlast console games. Right now consoles are hot shit, there's this upside and that upside to them etc, but in the long run developing PC games are lower risk for the developers and PCs (since they are *heavily* used by us for things other than games) are guaranteed to be around at all times. PCs in the household are nearly as common as TVs and will continue to be.
Consoles on the other hand....
$4 billion dollars lost on the Xbox. That's mind blowing. Think about it, we're not talking about an investment that ongoing, Xbox is essentially done even though they will continue to be for sale. That phase is over, and it lost $4 billion!
I think consoles are going to come into vogue, then drop out again every couple of decades.
Allah is right, consoles may be screwed, but PC games are going to carry the torch.

Yup.
I like his excuse how games how not added new game play, just better graphics and compares Goldeneye to some newer FPS.
Talk about blinders. Of course they are basically the same with better graphics, they are both single player FPS games. Why not compare it to Op Flashpoint where you have a shole squad? Vehicles? etc? Because it will ruin his arguement. Or, better yet, compare the FPS to the newest rage, MMO games(sadly, still mostly limited to RPG's). Whole COMMUNITIES have been formed. We are talkign about people's entie social lives being playing a MMO game. While
I am not into that myself, talk about a freaking step up from Goldeneye.
Give me a good MMO war game and I will start playing then.
I am still so disappointed in WWII Online. PLEASE, someone do it RIGHT.

First, it would be best to use it first than to proclaim this.
It could just as easily be one huge POS gimmick.
As far is it being 'skill,' you do not even get to 'aim' with it liek you would a real gun, so i do not see how it takes more skill than with a mouse. The Metroid video's I have seen CLEARLY show some 'auto-aim' help being turned on.
