Looks good. I am not sure what type of game play it will be. Just happened on this video at another forum.

Real Time Strategy according to the website.

http://worldinconflict.com/main/

That video is cool but there is no telling exactly what is shown there.. Pre-rendered video of the opening sequence or in game footage? That parachuting scene was incredibly detailed for real gameplay footage.

I don't think it was in game footage. But some of the screen shots at their website seem to be in game.

The ingame screenshots look good, but not as good as that trailer. http://worldinconflict.com/main/screenshots/1.html

But I'm really not interested in RTS. I'm more a multi-player FPS guy.

I am a multi-player FPS guy myself. But I did enjoy 'Homeworld' and 'Homeworld 2'. I believe they are real time strategy games. And they were made by Sierra. I will be checking this one out. From the video it looks like the Russians are attacking Coney Island. I will have to make sure the are thrown back into the the hypodermic needle, shit infested waters off southern Long Island.

I love the premise. I just wish this was an FPS -- I'm not big into the RTS scene. I know the Armored Fury expansion for BF2 has the one map (Road Rage or something like that) that takes place sorta near/in suburbia, USA... but can you imagine a first person shooter that takes place in the USA with maps taking place similar to the scenes in that vid? Suburban locales, an amusement park, a major US city... that would be so sweet. Tack on farmland, major highway interchange (like the map from Armored Fury), etc and that would be one really interesting game to play. Especially if set in an alternate reality NOW like the World in Conflict trailer.

I'd give my kidneys for a game (or even a mod) like that or one based on Red Dawn (per the movie) or on the old boardgame Fortress America.

Wow the graphics are nice, however i hate how they mislead you into thinking that it is a FPS game when it is just an RTS game. It doesn't look bad though.

I have had some fun playing C and C in the past although I like to play the computer more than a real person. I have waisted some hours on that game though.

Who knows, in 4-5 years, maybe a few more, FPS game will probably look like that pre-rendered footage in the video. When it gets to that point, I'm going to start randomly kicking kids in the ass for having it so good while growing up!

You took what he said in the wrong context. Take it literally not figuratively.
