It's funny how all the pro helmet law people are jumping all over this story. I'm not saying it's safer to not wear a helmet, you obviously should wear one if you so choose.. but it's just funny that this is all you hear about.

Over here it's the law. No helmet no ride. Shit they are gonna die anyway we just want to make it so at least they can have an open coffin for the funeral without making too many people sick.

why should she move he hit her its not her fault? the helmet thing is another thing he should of had one on but its his choice you dont have to have it on. He wasent out there being a jackass and stunting he just got in a wreak it happens he will recover and play this year.

I'm quite surpised they didn't make it a contractual condition that he not ride a motorbike anyway. Most movie stars have that condition I would expect it for major sporst stars as well.

i have no pity for him at all. It's like wearing seat belts (even though its law in almost all states) i'm confident with my driving ability i wear the seat belt cause i fear other drivers.

granted he's a super bowl winner.... he has millions in the bank and has the state of PA loving him, i would venture to say he feels invincable. - well until yesterday.

I don't think he deserves to be called any names. It was not his fault, he did nothing wrong and didn't break any laws. He was going through an intersection and some chick made a left turn in front of him. He has the right of way, she has to make her left when it is safe and clear. I am not sure if he was speeding though.
I agree that riding with a helmet is the smarter thing to do but I can tell you first hand.. riding without one is a TOTALLY different experience. Night and day. There is no comparison. I can see the attraction of riders in PA choosing not too. I used to ride in CA before the helmet law there. I chose to not wear one around town just cruising Main St, USA but of course would put one on for the freeways, highways, etc. At least I had a choice.

I don't like riding without a helmet. Getting smacked in the head with bugs and eating them isn't joyous to me. In fact, if I didn't have great reflexes, I would have been brained by a bird - if it hit me and I had no helmet. I was doing about 80 at the time.. Saw something coming at me and JUST ducked it in time. Can't describe it enough to give the full effect but... anyway. Helmet or no helmet? Helmetless = really stupid imo. You can never tell when someone is going to come out of left field and clean your clock. I even wear a helmet on a bicycle and that saved my head not too long ago. If I didn't have it on, I would have had major head injuries.

As far as the law goes.. I don't think it should be a law, per se. I just think it should be common frickin sense. It does help us keep the gene pool a little cleaner though. Not many women like the drooling vacant eyed staring types.

it doesnt matter how safe of a driver YOU are, you always have to be defensive and attentive to drivers around you. He failed to acknowledge this, by openly saying to his coash he is a safe driver and to not worry. Now he will learn.

Your right and wrong... they love these 'bad boy' / 'against safety' guys. They eat that shit up, it's only later when trying to raise a family they realize that the idiot with brain damage isn't a suitable father.
Doesn't matter in his case even if he's a little slow now, he has the money and make his facial scars and memory loss unimportant.
