Transformers - The Movie

Postby TiNM@N » Sun Jun 11, 2006 10:55 am

http://www.transformersmovie.com/

Dir. Michael Bay

Josh Duhamel...Commander Lennox
Michael Clarke Duncan...Officer Figueroa

I'm not a fan of michael bay just because of Pearl Harbor (don't think real life events should be hollywood and glamorized) ...but i do think 'The Rock' was a great flick.

so the screen play is being written by the gentleman (john Rogers) who wrote such award winning films as...
# Catwoman (2004) (screenplay)
# The Core (2003) (written by)
# "Jackie Chan Adventures" (creator)
- The Dark Hand (2000) TV

The other (writer) Roberto Orci has done
# "Alias" (co-executive producer)
# "Jack of All Trades" (2000) TV Series (executive producer)
# "Xena: Warrior Princess" (1995) TV Series (co-executive producer)
BUt he's currently working on the new Star Trek XI.

all im saying .... they better not screw up my childhood memories.

May be good.

I dont like micheal Bay for pearl harbour in the same way u do Tinm@n, i view it as a form of rememberance. I dont like because the film sucked, Tora Tora Tora was alot better, and it was made about 30 years ago.

German tourist: No we didn't

Um if the script is in the hands off the catwoman/core guy I think it's pretty much fucked. Those were horrible, horrible films...

Still I hva e alittle hope despite the facte the michael 'man did I fuck up pearl harbour' is on board. I think I am being overly optimistic though...

Well at least we can cut the script writer a break as they can't do a whole lot if the concept of the movie sucks period.

Pfft!!!!

Where do you come up with this crap? Besides GI JOE, i think this idea has GREAT potential.....

Look at how popular the series / following was back in the day... now you have adults with $ and they want to see something that reminds them of their youth.

X-Men has lots of characters (comics) and the first 2 films have been good. [in my opinion, thou i was never a fan of the cartoon].

All i'm saying is that this something that COULD be great... but the story needs to be one of good quality.

I wasn't referring to Transformers, I was referring to the script writer's talent.

I like the Transformers. I hope they make it more in line with the Alternators toy line where they took real cars and made them transform into their counterparts like Silverstreak and Smokescreen -- they were WRXs in the toy line and Grimlock was a 2006 Mustang.

The GRIMLOCK i'm familiar with was the T-REX.... from the cartoon he was the leader of the dino-bots, powerful ...yet.... not to smart. must of been running a P3 for his brain.

Yeah, for the toy line they converted the dinobots into muscle cars. Optimus Prime was still a semi though. If they did Starscream they should make him a Mig 29 or something. I liked the line because it seemed to be more in line with what Transformers should be and that is robots in disguise. Aside from the orginal series the Transformers transform into vehicles but aren't exactly in disguise. If Hot Rod were to park om a parking lot while in vehicle mode it wouldn't take very long to spot him.

Thats cool. Bumble Bee was the first transformer I got when I was a kid. I still remember it. I was in 3rd grade. I couldn't afford the Optimus Prime one.

Optimus Prime was as hard as Snake Eyes to find... at least in Northern Wisconsin. The best place to find action figures was a mom and pop hardware store. :(

Good question... it's reading just over 6 days right now. That would be July 5. The movie opens near a year later on July 4, 2007. Dunno if there's any significance to the dates being so similar.

I believe I heard the countdown timer is for a teaser trailer. They have already been toying with this concept for years. Hence the various commercials. A Few examples here.
