http://www.file.net/process/dllml.exe.html
DLLML.exe is a module loader for Createive. Perhaps when I was installing the card I chose to load different applications than you did. I am tempted to rename the file and reboot... just to see if it has any impact on my system. So far everything is running smoothly.

It could have been as simple as that you didn't have the card seated all the way. I have had that happen before. Also, you can always go to command prompt and go to msconfig and then to "services" tab and stop creative there just to see if that's it. I use to use sygate firewall and my computer would ever few months start crashing and I never realized that was it. Then when I moved and started to boot my system it was fucked up. I finally got the idea to go to "services" tab just as my comp started before it was freeze and stop the sygate process. I caught sygate and it fixed it. I haven't had any problems since and now use zonealarm.
Moral of the story is "services" can be key to stopping crap programs causing crashes.

The saga continues...
After moving the card to a new slot the problems still continue. I have contacted Creative and am currently awaiting a response. Actually I received one response already... Install the latest drivers.. No, DUH?
They did not answer my question about DLLML.exe, so I was a little bit more specific this time. Perhaps they will have an answer (I'm not holding my breath).
On a side note, I ended the DLLML.exe process through Task Manager and so far the sound is still working (and the compuer as well). I have not tried to change any settings in the Creative menu, so I cannot say if the system is stable. I will say that I am firmly convinced the DLLML.exe file is not working/installed properly and is causing my problems.

New response from Creative Tech Suport says
I like their cocky response "is EASILY resolved by..." Bull Hockey!! Nothing is ever easy when it comes to Creative sound cards. What a piece of crap!
I swore about 5 - 6 years ago to NEVER buy another Creative product. I don't know why I did... pure stupidity, I guess.
Antonious.. I didn't install all the junk creative usually makes you install. I installed close to the bare minimum. Who needs all that bloatware?
"The X-Fi has an onboard memory. The memory usage is a sign of your system being unable to differentiate between the different memory sources.
This is easily resolved by updating the drivers for your motherboard.
