Windows 2000 was never known for it's speed. I've had an ATi Radeon Pro 9700 in my Windows 2000 PC and it didn't come close to my 3DMarks in my Windows XP PC with a G-Force4 card in it.

Windows XP is best for gaming, although you can coax W2K into running most games. Windows 98 is faster, because it's simpler...and much less secure.

If you can handle the daily crashes, Windows 98 is bearable. Just steer clear of Windows ME...the most universally disliked OS since Windows 3.0.

Blimey, is that what they do in the States?!?? Supply you with notebook computers?!?? You guys sure do go all the way...!! Even my company doesn't give each of us a notebook!!

Its not entirely free 6undam, i believe it comes out of my tuition somewhere. Plus we have to give them a $500 deposit in the beginning of the year, which we get back if we return the laptops in working order.

Well for some reason I must have been the only lucky person in the world I loved ME, it was great, but EVERY single person I know disagrees with me, and that's fine, like i said, I must have been the luckiest person I never crashed on it and it was so damn fast...

Dogg, you can stick to 98se, its cool, and about you guys saying XP is the best, please look back and find a link someone posted about XP and refresh rate, that it sucks... I really can't say anything since Im running on a flat pannel and it goes up to 75 only but oh well

im trying man. All i can say is that if everything goes as planned, I should be back up and running tomorrow night. I might only be able to play just a little bit tomorrow though. Once i get my pc from my dad im going to have to reinstall all of my software(including rtcw;) ), and download the latest patches/updates and drivers for everything. Im also going to have to run a few benchmarks.

woohoo...I have a computer again. I should be playing rtcw tonight, Ill see you guys out there. Oh, and for those who are interested, I have xp home edition installed instead of 98. It turns out my dad had a whole bunch of developer's copies of OSes from work. I could have went with xp, 2000, or 98 se.

WHO IN THE HELL IS EDOGG???? J/K of course. Must have really sucked that the night you are back up oc is having problems! Hopefully see ya tonight. It will be good to have the whole crew together again. BTW, I have WXP (home) and it runs pretty good, you should be able to deal. True dat what Zog said about WME, it sucks major. Used to have that shit and absolutely no one supports it.
