I so disagree with any study trying to make such a connection. A normal person will know that what they are playing is pretend and not real, and thus is not what real life is like.
If a kid is violent and happens to play some violent video games then simply look deeper into the person and its not the video games causing it. If such a person is so fragile that a video game can trigger the violent behavior then simply don't play violent video games. Or perhaps you shouldn't be playing the games under that such condition.

I thought this whole thing called personal responsibility and decency was supposed to trump those sensations. I mean, people come back from wars and actually kill people during those war and not all of them go on violent rampages.
At the same time the study is kind of "duh" in the sense that it links playing violent games with the area of the brain the has a lot to do with violence becoming more active. It's like saying that somebody who watches porn become more aroused therefore they are more likely to rape.
