We have been thinking about getting a couple of these. Do you think it would do ok with pet hair? How many square feet will it clean? Will one unit do the whole house or do you have to buy X number of units based on square footage? How often do you have to change the bag?
sorry for so many questions but we are right in the middle of looking at these.

pet hair is ok, they even give you a special tool to cut it out of brushes, just need one unit, it cleans one room at a time, special units that come with, prevent it from going to a separate room, 45 minutes per room, no bag needed

Have you guys considered the possibility that your wives might not really want a vacuum cleaner for Christmas?
No matter how happy they pretend to be, they'll still get your balls for that.
Oh and no recipe books either.

Hell let me just be honest and say that the damn thing is for me! Wife has had me on floor detail for years.
One more question on the roomba. Does it work just as good on hardwood floors? We do not have carpet anywhere in our house. It is either tile or hardwood.

Smart man. I will never have carpet in a house I own ever. I hate dirt trapping carpet. If I could I would rip up the carpet in the house I am in now. That is a little bit down the list of stuff to do for this house.

Well the bad thing about not having carpet is that it always looks like the floors are dirty. It takes about a day for pet hair to start gathering in the HW floors. The good thing is that when you sweep it, you get all the hair up. So it is way cleaner than carpet. It just dont look that way. Your feet have to adjust to it as well. When we first pulled all of our carpet out my feet hurt for about a week.

also hardwood floors, if remodeled up, will increase the value of your home 15%, only problem with hardwood for me would be the heating factor, who cares home is being built, we'll let the sucker who gets this house worry about that
