Man just bought this mouse at best buy, its a huge difference in game play for me, smooth is the best way to say, tracking is alot easier for headshots, doesn't feel like it lagged behind like my last one, might be the best mouse ever, lots of cool features too
(best buy, 59.95), got a cool new keyboard all keys are set on left side in special area, can't get used to it tho, damn I should have bought the logitech gaming keyboard too)

The G7 I have is better

I really like the g5 for games, but for daily use a generic logitech 2-button is better... the g5 doesn't seem to allow clicking the scroll wheel, just tilting it, which doesn't do anything.

Yeah I have a mx518, samething but more buttons and its not laser, rather optical. Now for a late x-mas present since my mom is like I don't know what to get you, she handed me $100 and I'm thinking about a razer mouse w/ a saitek eclipse 2 keyboard. Or any other suggestions??
also slaughter I don't know if the sale is still on, but if you need some sick ass headset with a great mic... go to
www.buy.com and look for the icemat or steelsound headset. After rebates and google checkout its only $10 for the icemat and $25 for the steelseries (i have steel). Both are made by the same company and have outstanding sound, and if you do not have a good soundcard, i recommend the steelseries because it comes with usb sound.
EDIT: sorry it's not as cheap as it was, $30 for icemat and $45 for steelseries??? Still well worth the price imo

I love my G5 mouse I got last year. Its cool being able to switch the sensativity on the fly. Just wish there was an extra button or 2 on it.....

Am I the only person in the world that can't seem to adjust to one of those super-dooper mice? I haven't tried the G5, but a bunch of others like it and I end up returning them every time. I've used a basic $20 Microsoft Optical Mouse for years and it's the only one that feels right to me.
I'd really like a good wireless mouse, but they all seem too heavy due to the batteries. Makes my wrist tired.

I have the mx518 again, it has 8 buttons maybe, I only use the main 3... right mouse click = +salute, left mouse click = rage your face, and the mouse wheelup is drop weapon, wheel down is zoom in. and thats all i use. I find the sensitivity increase or whatever is stupid, i just use the max dpi. So I don't need much from my mouse except, comfort and precision... You need a good mousepad for that

.
glass = smooth, cold touch, accurate, and with tephlon mouse feet they usually come with makes your mouse glide effortlessly. not compatable with laser mouses.. (G5, razer CH). Gets dirty real fast, but easiest to clean.
cloth= compatable with almost every type of mouse, again with tephlon feet will glide much better but not as well as glass. Over time gets real dirty and the strongest carpet cleaner cant clean it well even...
plastic= ??? never used a good one.

I don't even use a mousepad - find cloth pads slow down precision. My desk is ruined tho - it has a big spot worn away on it from overuse

I use the Logitech MX518 and love it. I always run it at the highest setting. Anyone that sits down at my computer has a problem adjusting to the speed of the mouse. I always slow it down for them then crank it back up when I sit down.
When playing BF2 I have some of the buttons configured to switch between my main weapon and gernades. It works great for me. I tried a wireless mouse once, but the delay was getting me killed all too frequenlty.
I think I'll keep my wired mouse... Oh and GO LOGITECH!!

Got the Razer CopperHead last August and would recommend it for any gamer. Works well for regular stuff. too. I think that my accuracy has greatly improved. I compared it to the Logitech line and chose the Copperhead instead.

well people will usually choose the size/shape of the mouse when it comes to logitech and razer nowdays, one of my friends who plays cs came over and fell in love with my setup, is getting the same thing but a razer cause he claims to have small hands... Also lately if you check out some threads on gotfrag.com they are saying the microsoft ime 3 is suspose to kick ass. So choose your poison.
