Do any of you like photography as a side job/recreational activity?

Have you entered/won any contests?

What kind of camera(s) do you all have?

Anyone into photography? Hmmmm, the last time I heard that I wound up in the back of some stranger's van. Just like Sunday school but no one bought me any ice cream afterwards.

Right now I don't have anything special. Canon G6, which is basically a mix between a consumer basic digital point and shoot camera and DSLR. I can shoot in RAW mode, and stuff like that. I hope to get a DSLR soon though, I really, really want one..

pretty much all of the 8mp slr's are all nice. I got a deal on my a100 used for $500. Otherwise i was gonna get the 8mp rebel or the olympus e500.

The e-500 is nice cuz it comes with 2 lenses for about $650 I think. Samsclub and cosco both have the e-500 i think for about $650. That is a nice camera with a nice extra lens too!

Had i not got this deal on my used a100 I would prolly have gotten the E-500.

http://www.dpreview.com has side by side capabilities and definitions for any camera term you will need.

Photography is a big hobby of mine. Mostly film but I have a canon a640 also. My Canon Elan 7 is SO much nicer than those little point and shoots, totally different to use.

Never entered any contests though, and none of the pics are hanging on my walls.

As a hobby, yes.

No contests - just do it for my personal pleasure.
