Spybots, ads, trackers.

Postby S.Shooter » Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:41 am

Many sites on the internet is putting spybots, cookies, trackers etc etc etc on your computer. Those take up bandwith from your internet connection and therefore lagging your game AND slows down your internet.
This small problems can be fixed quite easily.

Combining this 2 programs:
Ad-aware SE
and
SpyBot - Search and Destroy
makes your computer running fast again.
The programs scan your computer and delete most threats to it.
Run both programs at least once a week to have your computer stay fresh.
Do not run them at the same time. One at a time!

Here's links for the downloads:
Ad-aware
http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html
(first time run a full system scan then a smart system scan is enough)

Spybot - Search and Destroy
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html

Please tell us how many "critical objects and problems" you had after
running it. And did it help?

Good luck!

If it took 50 minutes to scan then you really need to upgrade your computer.

Also, use ccleaner that program rocks.

The router, which drops incoming unacknowledged packets, does make a huge difference in security.

Yup :) A major upgrade for both the forums and the site itself.

We are working on a skin to match the new site actually, right now this is the default one ( which is ugly )

Yea it really was. I like it too :)

I've been busy behind the scenes making sure everything stays running.
