Catalyst 7.2 Help!

So i just installed the new Catalyst drivers, and I've run into a problem with them for the first time ever since I started using ATI cards.

When i start a game, I can get about 3-5 minutes of play out of it before I get tabbed out to the Host Controller for CCC crashing on me.

Now, I run an old school system which basically means whenever I play 2142, if this tabs me out, I have to close the game because it crashes on me.

Is there any ideas you guys could offer that could keep the Host Controller from crashing on me mid-game? I've reinstalled the drivers countless times and to no avail They did something pretty drastic with the CCC i noticed and moreso when i am playing.

HELP!

How long have you had an ATI card?

Have you tried to revert back to the old driver you had?

well it just gave my performance such a boost i would hate to go back but i will give it a shot and / or just install the display driver only and forget about CCC
