Personally i would ditch the e-machine and get a barebones off of E-Bay and take what you can out of the e-machine. Harddrive Cd rom Floppy Ram

You could pick up a 1.8ghz celeron (with Motherboard, New Case, 400 watt supply) for like 50 to 80 bucks plus shipping

Guess that is what i would do

A company I used to work for sold E-Machines. I personally hated them (always broke EXPECIALLY the modems). But check http://www.e4all.info/. I ran across it when I was looking for spec's on a customers machine about a year ago or so. Has a decent list of all the models. Your motherboard is as follows.

Anaheim 3 Micro ATX (ATX V1.2 form factor) motherboard, TriGem, Korea Intel Socket-370 (370pin PPGA Socket) for Intel FC-PGA Celeron CPUs Integrating on-chip Graphics controller and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH): Intel FW82810, as well as Intel I/O Controller Hub (ICH) and AC 97' CODEC: Intel FW82801 onto the motherboard eliminates the need for more expensive graphic and audio add-in cards.

This list will tell you what cpu's are supported by it.

hope that helps.

thanks so much hoog :) i greeeeeatly appreciate it man :)

so hoog, those are 100% compatible? So basically, I could order a 1.1 GhZ celeron with the 100 MhZ FSB, and it will work perfect? If that's the case, I should slap myself for not asking you earlier :)

Your safest bet would be to order a chip thats 1.75 volts. In other words don't buy a Celeron thats a FC-PGA2. Those (up to a certain point) are 1.45 volts and you board WILL NOT run them. So if your going to buy a 1.0 or 1.1 just make sure they are not the A series because those are 1.45v FC-PGA2. If you look at say pricewatch under 1.1 Celeron you can see in the description if it's FC-PGA2. Hope you can find the right one, they are getting few and far between.

lol

maybe i'm just a douche bag, but lol...you said no FC-PGA2, would that exclude just FC-PGA? for example:

Intel Celeron 1GHz Socket 370 FCPGA 100MHZ
(Part - CL1GFCPGA)

that should be safe correct? And dude, I appreciate your help :P, even though i'm bugging the shit out of yuo lol :blow:

yup thats what you want, a FC-PGA not an FC-PGA2. Not a problem, used to do it for a living :)
