I just installed wolf GotY edition on my new laptop. I don't have access to any of my old files just yet so i don't have any of the patches. Does anyone know exactly what i need to do to get this SoB back up and running? further, anyone know of good places to download such patches?

grrrrrrr!! it's telling me that it can't find default.cfg. I wonder if it's a screwed up patch or just vista. I'd put my money on vista.

edit: or maybe it was just user error lol. i seem to have everything lined up for wolf to work right but now i'm getting the error: "Game code (ui_mp_x86.dll) failed Pure Server check."

Dont know About Default config
But delete wolfconfig_mp in main and scrub folder, then your are reset from scratch.
A new one will be written ones you start a new game.



But you also can download new Pb files and see if that helping you!

Make sure you have punkbuster updated. And your graphics card drivers up to date. And make sure you are logged in as admin. If and when u get it working.. Your not going to be to happy with the performance. I remeber all that shit to clear. About 2 and half hours with MAA remote accessing my PC. And countless tickets to PB.

well i've re-installed with full admin privileges and all that fun stuff. updated wolf and punkbuster. But i'm still getting that "Game code (ui_mp_x86.dll) failed Pure Server check" message. It has the option in the shortcut's properties to "run this program as an administrator" but the check box is grayed out even though i am administrator...I hate computers

silly question but did install shrub and all that jazz? And the right versions


ALSO.. I remember I disabled user account control. Or you can right click on the shortcut and click properties, click compatibility and check run as admin.

well i got it working. my dumbass had to do the 1.4 lite patch then the 1.41 patch so the .dll would work. Nothing is slow, everything seems to be alright. Now i gotta remember my old config stuff...argh, time to search threads.

PB must have updated and fixed alot of that shit. Because my game ran like crap and played better on my old pc with half the specs. At any rate, glad it's working.
