Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Not sure many here will have seen the announcement over on our forums, but we recently found out that Jason Davis, aka Sgt DevilDog, passed away at the age of 37.
DevilDog was a long time admin at ECGN and a good friend to many.
We will likely post information on our site for donations once we figure out how best to handle that, if anyone is interested. Otherwise please keep Jason's family and his young daughter in your prayers.

We were supposed to play Silent Hunter III against each other.
We were supposed to spend another night arguing against each other on the phone.
We were supposed to travel and meet each other.
Instead I'm stuck here, mourning a friend I've never met who died 2000 miles away.
It's strange that I can't get used to the idea, I can't seem to be able to overcome this.

We cannot dwell on our inaction in the past; we can only resolve to act going forward.
I've been there before and have had the same feelings; beating myself up did nothing but lead me into an unhealthy depression.
I feel your pain my friend as I also miss DD greatly, so please call if you need to talk.
Carpe' Diem.

Didn't know him well, but what a sad day, peace

FYI - the GofW community is taking up a collection to purchase some savings bonds for his daughter - our way of trying to pay our respects.
Anything donated will go to that purpose, and if you want, you can include a small message that I'll forward on to his family.

My first BOTR as captain was against Devildog. The team selection was a chessmatch. I continued to know him through WOW and I am so sad to hear he's passed. This is one of those times I wish I could back the clock up and spend some time with him. He will truly be missed by so many of us. Godspeed Devildog.
