I wouldn't normally post about in game chats but I found it pretty funny he thought that, its amazing how much people don't pay attention in class

Big Bang is just that, a theory. What was in space before there was this so-called big bang. We don't know. We'll never know. We'll only have scientists to come up with more intellectual theories about what's what. Honestly, he can believe the earth is 6k years old. So what.

The oldest rocks which have been found so far (on the Earth) date to about 3.8 to 3.9 billion years ago (by several radiometric dating methods). Some of these rocks are sedimentary, and include minerals which are themselves as old as 4.1 to 4.2 billion years. Rocks of this age are relatively rare, however rocks that are at least 3.5 billion years in age have been found on North America, Greenland, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

Maybe he goes to a Christian/Catholic school and they teach creationism, not Darwinism??

No harm done though, just intriguing how he was lead to believe that 6,000 years is the age of the universe.

Don't they tell the kids of today about dinosaurs?
Did he think a T-Rex was walking around 6,000 years ago?

I believe most of you are idiots. Can we test that theory

Pretty much sounds like he is just confusing Christian belief of the age of man with the age of the universe. Basically god created man about 6k years ago and created the universe in 7 days. How long is 1 day to a god? 24 earth hours? Probably not. This sounds like the case to me.

Whether it be carbon dating or radiometrics how can you prove if it is right or wrong. 100 years from now they may find both methods were wrong.

At the end of the day it all had to start somewhere, and it would actually start before the big bang. Find the origin of matter and you have the answer

Hell, and here I thought the world started when I was born and everyone was just put here for my amusement. Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight.

I never understood creationinsts. The fact that the earth is provably older than 6 thousand years doesn't disprove the existance of god, it simply disproves the timeline of events as laid out in the bible.

So the bible is innacurate...big whoop. It's not a history book so much as a guidebook to life anyway. Why struggle to make crapy and scientifically absurd arguments to try and prove the scientific accuracy of a book which is not a literal interpretation of events in the firstplace. It makes no sense.

Anyway this is clearly a religious thread and as such is a violation against the law of the forum. For that slaughter you shall be taken to a place of execution and fed bananas untill your stomach be ruptured in twain.

Everybody knows this forum is just for whining and spam and that the ruling against any kind of interesting discussion has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that nobody reads it anymore ;)

With my understanding of the big bang theory it is the origin of time, space, and matter all into existence. There was nothing before the big bang just a void. Then an infinitesimal dense and tiny particle appeared and exploded into existence creating space, time, and matter. All this happened in a billionth billionth billionth of a second.

To question why this happened would be meaningless and to question what was before the big bang would also be meaningless. This is a theory just to explain on how existence as we know it came to be. For all we know it could of been an omnipotent power that created the universe and everything in it. Either way it boggles the mind to think how the universe was created whether by accident or by an omnipotent being.

Now they tell us they have reason to believe in parallel universes and that entire universes are floating bubbles in the cosmos, and all the universes have existence duplicated. This is based on quantum mechanics and the ability of an electron to be in two places at once...

As far as creationist, they want to find purpose, meaning, and structure in their life. They are the most closed minded people I have met and telling anything that disproves their belief of God leads to heresy or a belief in Satan. Because the Bible is pure entirely and is not wrong in any shape for form. They look at arguments that disprove it as Satan's work and continue to live in a bubble of ignorance.
