Really Nice idea but not practical. Ultimately I believe it would have a negative impact on the server. With so many people in different timezones that just want to play simple unorganized pub it does not work. The server has worked fine for years the way it is.

I am guessing the majority of players on ECG simply want to pub not play matches, after all its a pub shrub not OSP. There is already and OSP server out there that does not get much use, and there is Chaos that has nowhere near the following or volume ECG does. If there is one constant in the universe it is that people do not like change.

If we do it just for a few hours once a week then the impact on the server is minimal. Also remember we have lots of specs lately, indicating this could be fun for spectators and noobs.
This way it even might build up little of the community again after the Wolfailstein. Meaning a few more servers might be populated.

This sounds like a great idea, but I agree with Gamb on the practicality of running this "mini-league" on the ecgn server. Newbies Welcome may be a viable alternative if Huggy B is willing to host... Or if MAA is willing to set up an alternative server.

It'd be a shame to see this idea fizzle... again.

Nubz, you did something extremely similar to what Alex is proposing with Vision. You can group/rate players accordingly and it works out fine. Just gotta find a server, and have committed players. Which atm, we have neither.

That still turned out to be a shit show sadly. And honestly, rating players that play here has few demographics: Retarded, Damaged, Played this before, 'Rioded up.

Honestly, I saw Pug it. Just have admins pick players in alternating fashion, get as many peeps on Allied/Axis ventrilo channels, and have at it.
