wolfauthorize.idsoftware issue

Hi

Is anyone having hang ups when loading server due to address having to be resolved with wolfauthorize.idsoftware.com?

Lately I keep getting waiting for master server list in lobby and when list eventually appears have to wait on wolfauthorize.idsoftware.com resolving its address.

Help greatly apprecitad.

i just sometimes get the Unknown.author for a few seconds ?

maybe its your internet connection/router ?

try this test

click on START/RUN (then type) cmd ( this opens a console )

then type "ping wolfauthorize.idsoftware.com"

(without the quote marks). and hit enter .

it should give ping statistics readout.
However if it times out, chances are your route to the authentication server has been blocked.

but if its pinging ok , try connecting to server by joining direct (not waiting for the games server list.
ie , in the game console type /connect 69.65.113.18:27960

then see if thats quicker ?

I'm also having troubles getting onto the server directly from Xfire or Ingame, I kept waiting but realized this is a problem outside me. I can reinstall if necessary, if it persists then I'll try your theory.

it seems to be easing off now. not taking as long as it did.

ping request came back fine.

As long as I can connect its all good.

You know when I first started having this problem.....I just started using....
Pathfinder. You have to configure it and whatnot but it is must faster
than the games lobby.
