OLTL Day

From 2001-2005 I used to play on an OLTL server (Ganja Palace) almost exclusively. Had a lot of good times there. I loved how having one life changed the dynamic of the gameplay. There was much more teamplay and every bullet counted. It was thrilling. Which is why we should have one day a week that is one life to live with a rotating map selection. Trust me it is super fun. The only people I can see having a problem with it are the super noobs who will be out of the round almost instantly. Although spectating while out can be really fun too as you watch the last few people duke it out.

Sure it sounds like fun but this is ECGN and unfortunately 3/4 of the Allie's would be killed within 10 feet of the shoreline...for many different reasons.

im in too. I love oltl. But warpig , beach was never an oltl map.. because of the lopsidedness at teh beginning.

Half of the 1.0 servers are mp_base 3 lives, so we are used of this kind of gameplay ! It's fun especially when it ends to an 1vs1.
I think the best maps for this are mp_base and mp_destruction (mirror map)

Yoshi... Base is boring as hell, same map over.... and over... and NO diversity.

Rocket, Village, Keep, Assault, Dam. Hell Breakout was the shit for OLTL for large players Outside the streets to the sewers. Man those were crazy times.

I've got a version of base that s4ndm4nn and I made that we call Base Rush. I think it would be great for OLTL, and probably would play well on regular OBJ as well - not sure about as many players as end up on ECGN.
