Either one. I've spent an hour trying to sort out a problem where my fps couldn't go 125. I tried everything from changing resolutions, uninstalling the game literally four times and start from scratch. The problem is my RTCW.
I can diagnose my config can't go above 60fps not the usual 90fps once I reinstalled. I'm at first thought it is something have to do with my vsync setting that renders me at 60fps. But I can't push past 60fps with my custom config and the default settings is working fine. My custom config worked fine last night but for some reason it's not this morning. None of my custom configs works at 125fps anymore.
I hate to play 60fps on an old game like this... feels slow as shit.
May not be back on ECGN unless you guys want to make me play 60fps which I don't intend to play.

That's got to be a config issue or driver issue. It's nothing on this end.

Have you checked what the "com_maxfps" is set to in the wolfconfig_mp.cfg files in your "Main" AND "shrubmod" folders?

Since you have reinstalled 4 times:freak: It's probably not the install.

Sounds basic but have you searched your cfg file for all the maxfps setting to make sure none have survived at the lower setting? If your sure your cfg is right then it might be something a graphics driver reinstall could help.
Good luck and don't stop playing!!!

sounds like this is the problem:
make sure you set the game to run on 1 core only. since you're running an nvidia card you should also go into the options and change your settings for wolf to single display performance mode and threaded optimization to off. old opengl games have a lot of issues when more than 1 core is enabled.

before you do anything that is involved I would try what umadbro suggested.
When these two files are different the game seems to jump back and forth between the two..why? I haven't a clue.
copy-and-paste the shrub cfg over the main cfg. It solved a lot of other issues for me in the past. it could be something as simple as that. Good luck
of course make sure you set all the right values that you want in the shrub cfg first.

do this gayling. right click on your rtcw icon on desktop....
properties
at the "target" tab make it says this:
"C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WolfMP.exe" +set com_maxfps 76
then delete your wolfconfig.cfg from your main rtcw folder. then just execute your config when you enter a server. boom
