And no, I wont play, 1) I simply don't have the time and 2) Since last decade I can't hit an elephant 2 feet away. :hunter:

But anyway, this is a cup topic so I wont hijack it (again).

You didn't get the point, but you're right, let's not hijack the topic.

sure maybe ecgn has shortened spawn times and all that stuff doesn't mean they aren't playing "real" rtcw. OSP is a mod too are you gonna say that since OSP is a mod you're not playing wolfenstein either?

we all love RtCW, don't we? i mean the master server has been down for 2 years now and we're still kickin! i wouldn't bash anyone for wanting to play rtcw since it really is one of the best FPS games ever created. modded or not!

i play shrub, osp, banimod, 1.0, 1.4, all that shit because i love this game, so don't bash someone for not playing a mod that you play and call him out on not playing "real" rtcw

It has nothing to do with mods. I'm just saying the settings that exist on ECGN I don't consider real RTCW. Even in the early days before OSP came out we were still playing "real" competitive RTCW. But all the shortened spawn times, limited lives and whatever shrub stuff I don't consider to be real RTCW. It's a fantasy land version, but at the same time I realize it's all that's left of the game so it's better than nothing. But to me, no, I don't consider ECGN to be real RTCW. I didn't consider OLTL to be real RTCW either, and the 3v3 games that the Euros love nowadays is not real RTCW to me either. You can call me an elitist I suppose but I don't care. Shrub has good anti-lag that I wish existed in OSP so I am not anti-shrub, I'm just anti-fantasy pub settings.

This message was mainly directed at EurO who stated "I played the first Anniversary Cup last year, and got destroyed by some teams that did nothing but practice, find the "sweet spots"/glitches on each map, and basically play Wolf unlike any pub round you've ever played. Zero fun, all serious." Well wake up because THAT IS THE GAME. If you don't like the competition aspect that's fine, but stick to ECGN pub land if you don't want any part of serious competition.

Also I agree with everything that 'L0, said. Any decent team that is playing in the cup all do the same strategies. The strategic element and spontaneity of RTCW vanished long ago. The current competition all comes down to execution and Euros being lamers like KiH turning off antilag against Unity. But I'm not going to get into that. After playing in this previous cup I'm done because the Euros play dirty and I'm not participating in their biased cups again.

If you look at the admins, we have virus and gut from N/A who are going to be supporting their help to make this cup better then last few we've had. Zeds cup are always corrupted, last cup we had admins who were blatantly wall hacking. Therefore that being said, this cup won't be like any other with different admins. Adeetoo, gut, virus, bully, and lasher are the admins, all great people to have on board.

I know a few people from N/A still looking for a team, this cup is for fun and I've participated in the last 3 cups, which have all been different.

When it comes to OSP and it's competitive side there is obviously going to be people camping corners, slow times, fast times, panzers, going out full, etc. The reason most teams take their time either rushing or camping is due to spawn times, and not being an idiot and rushing 5 guys.

Why would you want to pull an ecgn style game play when you know dam well you will just die and go out full, that's the reason people camp. Going out for 30-40 seconds really gives the other team an opportunity to plant/or grab docs.

It's a different style of play, nothing like public.

Also, when I /kill on shrub, I expect people to stop your damn bitching. It's apart of the game, much like camping(yet no one bitches about that)

Not to sound negative or anything, but I'm sure the Euros will still pull their usual bullshit no matter who the admins are. I don't have faith in any admins but it does sound like an improvement over the last two cups. So I hope this time around the admins will have enough balls to stop the bullshit and corruption of the last two cups.
Zed's cup was so corrupted it was ridiculous as he was being influenced by Merlinator the whole time.

This time around demos will be a MUST have, they will be doing random checks on people. If they can't provide a demo, they will be out of tourney. Everyone is to demo themselves playing. That's good for certain people who we think hacks, or has hacked in the past(playa, nackjee, etc)

Also, this time around there is no more bullshit waiting. Teams will have deadlines, and only 2 chances to make a time to play. If they don't show both times, that's to bad for them and they forfeit.

Lots of the same rules as you can see from other tournaments, but now it should run a lot smoother.

Ha about Nackjee, we we're having a 6v6 the other day and before the game bully sent me the new anti cheat that I installed on parchers UK server and on my NYC server and guess what happened after 5 minutes of playing... Check it out!:

haha! so don't hack if you're on my servers you will be caught! :>

this is the same stuff that caught playa hacking :)

Hmmph... I thought it was the demos of him hacking that caught him. Don't recall seeing anything about the new anti cheat when playa got caught.

@junior yeah he is on that team, it was just a mix, not a real team. bully told me it scans your RTCW folder for hacks is all I know. :)

@deadeye it was the demos that caught him, and then later on ?crumbs? I think made a new anti cheat system? or something like that anyways whatever it is caught nackjee the other day.

Re: RTCW Cup: The Reich Strikes Back!

Yes nackjee is a notorious cheater yet the Euros still let him scrim. Pretty lame. Unfortunately nobody does anything about it and nackjee also steals other players names so it can be hard to tell if it's him. But his bullshit panzer shots usually give him away. He should be banned no matter what but the trouble is any ban can be evaded.

All of this angst, profanity, rigid opinions and inner-detail-cvar-altering-setting-mod chat is another reason I don't "want to go there" - good idea just playing on ECGN where there is nothing at stake except a few hours of great fun...

Sure there is nothing wrong with that. By all means play on ECGN. I'm just saying that I consider the settings on the server to be fugazi. If you can't handle the heat or don't like it (OSP) then don't play it.

Haha, you're one of these guys that has to have the last word and say something to make yourself look cool, eh? It might come as a shocker to you that no one cares - about your avatar, or your accomplishments ingame. Too bad you had to add an emotional aspect to a simple thread. Apparently, after all these years, the truth that "it's not a game" still hasn't set in. When OSP first was released, my clanmate at the time, Rivrstyx, was a main cog in the development, and I accompanied him through the beta. But... you didn't have that information to influence your statements about players "not being able to handle the heat" or whatnot.
Too bad almost every thread on these forums has to have this kind of input.

Back on track, if it's not too late (hint, hint NAMECAPS :)) I'll be a llama!

I stopped reading at the beginning of your post because you are talking out of your ass. You complained about OSP and how it's not fun. So again if you can't handle it don't play it. I don't need to have the last word so you can keep posting but I'm not really interested in what you have to say.
