Ah... You know this game is 13 years old and this is its last year. Friday night and there's 5 people on.

Yes I know that RtCW is dying, but this doesn't mean I can't have fun and create something new :)

I'm with fuzzy on this. I enjoy making maps (though I haven't done it enough). Even if it's old, I still want to learn. It'll give me something to do while watching movies and chillaxing. Thank you for posting this, I'll be book marking and using the page.

Thank you Destructor and Nephilim, I really appreciate those comments!
Btw Nephilim, you got some skillz with that sniper rifle ;)
I hope you guys are willing to play the Alpha version of the map that is coming out soon!
And destructor, if you have any questions when you're mapping just hit me up on my site or on these forums. I'm also on steam

I've been considering making a trickjump map recently, been kind of bored with rtcw maps and thought it'd be good to throw something new and challenging into the mix that isn't ported from ET
Is there much involved in making them?

Honestly it does not involve a lot. You can do all of your mapping through one program and it is very simple to set up. Check out my website, and ask me any questions you may have. I am more than happy to get you started.

I'll have a bit of a go at it at some point over the weekend. Will probably keep it cheap and nasty to start with, just to get used to the process

Good idea. After I'm finished with Lichtenberg, I was planning on making either a trick jump map, duel map, or a race map. I wouldn't mind testing out what you come up with

So I've now used Skuzzy's beginner tutorials to start mapping. They're well written and easy to follow. Anyone who has been interested in trying their hand at making maps should give his it a shot. Once (if) enough people join up and start he's going to host mapping contests, which should be fun.
