Just a little lite reading, eh?

"I like to make a good cup of International Delight, throw another log on the fire and curl up with a good C++ book..."

These are the moments of our liiifffeee....

Of course . . . it was a delightful social commentary on the state of bloated data-transmission and transformation languages and the ever-heightening pace at which incomplete standards are ratified by an increasingly uneducated pool of "programmers" and "computer professionals" (and I use both terms loosely).

;)

Regrettably, this is not too far from the truth - it's usually a triple venti mocha though! :D

You'll probably like the fact that the stats for 1.4 will be in XML. They are going to log EVERYTHING, even minute details like leaving and entering a vehicle.

That sounds like a huge clusterfork . . . regular log files for that type of event would be large enough - but doing them in XML!?!?!?!?! I hope you've got EMC storage boxes hooked up to those servers!!! Not to mention the parsing and transofrmation of that volume of data from XML into some useful format or medium (a relational DB would be the goal, I would imagine if you want to do any useful data manipulation) . . . UGH!!!!

XML has its place - storing data in log files is not one of them.

Ahhh I always wanted to see how long I lived in my Stuka on El Alamein... :)

We need wild best of awards for good shiez though... like

Chacal killed 24 tanks with his bazooka!

MMMgood got ran over the most, 12 times!

Pat McCrotch plane kamikazed 13 times!

HoldnMGroin shot down the most planes with his plane, 11 times!

ColPappy annihilated 28 vehicles and 59 soldiers in the B17!

----

crazy 'best of 'stats... we need that too! :D

Imagine 50 CRAZY stats and the map will pick the highest # of 10 of them and pick randomly 10 more...

Could always be fun ... you never know what you will get awarded for... plane camping the most or
TNT jumping the highest distance! hehe
