Mine was the IBM Model 5150... It had a blazing 4.77 Mhz processor and 16k of RAM. The graphics were awesome as well... CGA 320x200... Imagine trying to play BF1942 on that beast. My parents bought me a Compaq portable a few years later. They called it portable even though the thing weighed close to 40lbs...

My first was a 486-25mhz with a meg of ram. When my beloved Sierra adventure games started getting a little heftier, I upgraded to 4 megs of ram, and it cost me $285. Moore's Law meant prices pretty much sucked the bone back then.
My school was still using C64's 5 years after this point as well. They did have one Mac, but the only use it got was students playing the mouse tutorial with the guy in the cave.

Mine was an old IBM 80/86 with an amber monitor that didn't support VGA graphics, one of floppy drive (the lame one) and a hard drive that couldn't handle a third of my current music collection... I later upgraded this awesome machine with a top of the line 14.4 modem so I could go play on the different BBS's... I for one do NOT miss the old days...

My first computer was also a Commodore 64. I had a lot of fun with that computer. The tape drive SUCKED, however, as it would NEVER save and the reload any of the programs I wrote.

Once I got the disk drives though, I was able to pirate some sweet games. I still have my complete rig in the basement!
