Well,

I didn't bother to answer it... I just hit the "Report this post to a moderator". We use this same software to run ScubaBoard and people like this tell us when we need to add a bit more chlorine to the gene pool!

*scratches head* I just went for a whirl-wind tour through stats, dif't thread links and many pages to end up back here. Uhh....

I think it was in this thread that Klink mentioned that snipers prove invaluable at keeping axis off the beach. Is it just me or is this funnier than Richard Simmons crooning over some blimp as they're craned out of their bed to be placed on the veranda so they can watch soap-operas in the sun?

LOL Klink.... *still chuckling* ...lol....I can't even write this is so funny. Klink....LOL....the only reason meds go out on the beach to needle you guys is because they're borred. I mean....lol ...LOL....what do you think the axis are doing out there? Starting up the landing craft? "You guys should be grateful we're saving the beach".....LMFAO. Oh man I can't even write there's tears in my eyes.

....*lol*... I forgot to mention... Klink, you give out one hell of a lot of ammo, and for that you earn my respect. Too many lt's feed only themselves while the medics around them are trying their best at knife-fights.

Also--you mentioned you snipe me as I come out of doorways. This may be true. I have to stop a lot and deal with tards--thus using up my 6 second spawn protection. When I come out of !kicktard realm I catch a lot of stray nades, bullets, snipers, etc.

I can confirm this. I've poisoned plenty of snipers on the beach or at sniper hill. But the most fun is when they come back looking for me just to get gunned down, or when they come back having completely forgotten about getting poisoned in that location seconds before.(Oops! Poisoned again!)

Ahhhh...such sweet convulsions.:D

Yeah, the beach is a pretty valuable piece of real estate... I think it would fetch much more on the open market than that silly top platform... I mean look at the dimensions! Sure there is some fixing up that needs to be done, like the barbed wire, but ultimately very salable... :freak:

Come to the window... the beautiful, beautiful window and you will find rest for your soul. :)

Keek... not as you LEAVE the axis spawn area... but as you try and enter the lower bunker to reclaim it. There are three points where the axis soldier slows down... just as they are coming off of the roof, as they turn to go to the door and then as they start up the stairs. If you lead it just right you can get the head shot and stop them from reclaiming the lower bunker. THAT alone makes one sniper on the beach worthwhile.

As for medics poisoning snipers... that happened at first, but I really can't remember it happening to me recently. Not in the last couple of weeks. I have been MP40'd to death, and I love it when I am deuling with a panzy and I am waaaayyyyy back. They will usually get me once or twice, but they hold SOOOOOO still waiting for the panzy to ramp up and shoot. Easy head shot and kill. And if I am looking anywhere near them when they shoot, I just slide away from the area. Panzies are such posers!

Let's face it; Clink has suffered some sort of head trauma...there's no way in hell any logic will penetrate his thick, scarred skull.

In his world what he's doing is invaluable. To the rest of us he's a sellfish, lazy, attention-deprived naive.

He's as useful as a jar of Vaseline on the Titanic.

Useful???

How can anyone of us consider ourselves useful, as we while away countless hours playing a game? Reality check please! (And I think Zog's just bounced!) :) I play for the fun of it, and I happen to like being selfish and lazy. Deal with it! If I weren't so lazy, I might do more around the house than just play!

I know my strong points and feel totally useless as an Ally doing anything other than sniping. As an Axis, I like to be a Lieutenant as I am better suited there.

Klink.... I assume you're talking about axis retaking the spawn. Say 7 axis spawn in the main lower room. Not uncommon. Say 2 head upstairs, 2 down to the murder hole area--the other 3 by the slotted window and out onto that lower platform. Again, I'm describing a scenario that happens constantly. 2 of those 3 jump over the platform, both fixed on taking the allied spawn out. They may or may not find someone else enroute to doing that; often they do. Which now means 3 or 4.

You're on the beach. You, your mauser, and your favourite plastic green pale. The one Aunt Gertrude got you for your 28th birthday. You see the 2 jumping down the platform *ka-pow*: You wound one, possibly kill him. The other one, possibly 2 or 3 run to the spawn. You MIGHT get one of the others. Probably not.

Here's my point: If you insist on sniping, which I do go on record as thinking an important aspect of the game WHEN the sniper is well-positioned, do it from on top of the allied spawn. Or beside the ladder. Atop the ladder, along that ledge. In the depression of ground just left of the blown-wall section, along the wall. ANYwhere but on the beach. From ANY of the positions I just described, you've got all the time in the world to take ANY axis out ANY where above the trenches.

Not to mention you'll get fed ammo--if you're proving your worth.

Which brings up the main point. Snipers hide on the beach because, well, deep down--they're truly ashamed. Likely, they're grateful when their names don't show up on the highest scores list. After awhile, they don't even ask for ammo. They just quietly commit suicide. A little noticed end to a largely fuitile life. it's depressing just writing about it.

As someone else pointed out--the most kills snipers get are against noobs. By a huge percentage. They're cannon fodder anyways. You've probably done them a service by not allowing them to kill themselves with their own nade.

Mark my words--the Zoloft Kid will be a force to reckon with in a month. Doubt you'll get many freebies there soon.

Yet more stats to prove a point. I would classify Zog, Keek and Cyrus as well above average players. This pic shows that above average players get killed by snipers VERY rarely. My own deaths are 18 out of about 1500 to snipers. If you don't hang out where they can see you (almost anywhere) you can't get sniped.

Yet again showing the relative worth IN THE GAME of snipers to their team.

I dare any sniper to come get me when I'm firmly entranched in my favorite hole...the ducts!!

Fear ye, who dare tread there...for these are my pressed aluminum walls.

Great work with those stats, Rules...you da Stats Mang!!

I honestly think I'm just an average player. I pale in comparison to the likes of NNC Wraith, Aphid, Cyrus, Dragon Fart, NaziJewBoy and a few dozen other guys who would kick my ass in any one-on-one firefight...but it's good to at least be recognized as a skilled player (albiet on an FF off server) and not just some clueless-noob cannon-fodder.
