I am a Physics/Chemistry Teacher at an "inner city" school in the St. Louis Area. I used to teach in the Orlando FL area (Cynical.. where are you?) but I moved back to my hometown after being gone for 13 years. (My wife and I wantd free babysitting form the grandparents.. so we moved back).
Before teaching I was a Nuclear Power Plant Operator in the Navy, Managed a Taco Bell, went to Law School, and had many other short lived careers. (Ralph... I feel sorry for you..lol).
I entered teaching when I was 29 and I have never regretted it. I love the kids.... if the other teachers could just grow up.
My personal rant.... more of you that are experienced in life and the "real world" need to become teachers. I have found that most positive, hard working teachers have had other careers. They do not fall prey to the self victimization that many teaches do.
One last thing, my favorite Wiggum Qoute is "I like sleep, thats when I'm a Viking!"
