I just built the mega G5 system... monitors NOT included, just the specs below....
Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5
• 8GB DDR400 SDRAM (PC3200) - 8x1GB
• 2x250GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
• ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
• 56k V.92 internal modem
• SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
• Apple Keyboard & Apple Mouse - U.S. English
• Mac OS X - U.S. English
...and for the subtotal....
$7,574.00
now for that amount of cash, the os X had better be backwards compatable with 32bit apps!! Or this would just be sitting around waiting for developers to create compatable software.

are you comfortable with building a pc by yourself ? That would be the best way to go.. If now how much money would you like to spend?? You can call bragging rights with an Alienware pc.. or if you just want to do the cheapest/easiest buy, it is hard to be a Dell..
my opinions of course..

First take a stroll over to newegg.com.. to get the best prices I have been able to find.. with free shipping on most products.
Purchase your case, power supply, and monitor if needed locally. Shipping will cost you on these items, and it is not cheap.
Lets see....
good quality AMD motherboard
AMD2500xp or better
512mb ddr memory
60gb hard drive
52x cd-rw
dvd player
ATI 9500 128mb video
integrated sound
custom case w/400w ps
you will be looking at about $600 give or take a buck or 2.. also one heck of a learning experience.. I highly recommend it.
