I got kicked while I was simply running down a hill. It might have been for something I did earlier though. I parachuted in on Market Garden and laid mines on the bridge. I then started laying dynamite. The problem is when I drop the dynamite I am hitting my fire one button rapidly. After the last one is dropped the plunger comes out automatically. Like an idiot I am still hitting the fire one button. Hence we all blew up.

DOH!

No I'm not banned. Just referencing my own stupidity.

Since we're telling "I got kicked because I'm a moron" stories, here's mine.


I just joined in on coral sea, as an engineer (as always on that map). I spawned on the deck of the ship, immediately whipped out my wrench and started cranking as I ran back to the planes, which I spawned in front of.
So far so good- here's the problem. I hit "5" to select my wrench. The wrench is 6- 5 is land mines. So I dropped like 4 mines in front of the planes before I realized.
Turned around to pick them up just as a bomber passed over the first one- killing myself and the 2 people in the bomber. So now I'm dead, and watching two more relays of airplanes pass over the mines. Then I got booted.

I no longer start using my wrench on the carrier deck until I can see that it's actually a wrench.

'omg, enemy tanks are rushing over this bridge in a few seconds! gotta get mines up, gotta get mines up, got the mines up! next, toss some dynamite and get one of the suckers while he's parked there staring at the mines with a stupid look. oh, great, reinforcements! c'mon, faster, faster, faster, get all this dynamite placed.' *click click click cli-KERBOOM* has killed a team mate....is no more...is no more...is no more. *sigh*

My favorite is when we have the stone bridge mined to hell and some idiot rolls over with a sherman hell bent on taking the Germans Perma Base. I have had to relog twice in one map from that.

That and the poorly timed shell on the left ramp of Omaha Beach while the entire team is there.

Had that one happen the other day- some smacktard with an APC rolled over my mines on the steel bridge on market garden. To make matters worse, there were 3 others in the APC..

I have yet to play defensive engineer on the bridge maps on the OC48 servers. Simply because I have seen the rampant idiocy that can prevail on some maps. Not that playing engineer has served me better on the other maps. I had laid a pair of exp. packs on the top slope for Kharkovs center flag, I run back to get into a good viewing position... Get fired upon, chuck an exp pack at the guy, pop the plunger. I get him with that third exp pack, and get 2-3 teammates standing on top of the other two...

Why is there that annoying adminbot?
If they don't want us to accidently (or purposely for some people) TK, then why is the TK put on 100%?

I prefer the realism that it provides. If you don't like it, try BF #2- TK is off on that server.

I love the bot. It gives the admins some time to play instead of having to deal with 100 percent of the idiots themselves. Also, you can usualy tell when someone accidentally TK's compared to straight up TKing.

Iwas playing on the BoB map as an engineer at the main axis base. I lay mines on the north bridge on our side so they are visible to my team and not the other. Some smacktard in an APC comes along drives over the bridge and my mines.DEad....I rearm ,go back out to the bridge and lay more mines in the same place........same damn smacktard comes along in an APC and does it agin.....BOot............lol
