Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Well, you could fight it, but you were substantially over the speed limit. Your witness will testify that you were speeding, just not as much as the police officers gun determined, which is probably more accurate than your speedometer, which can be off by as much as 10 MPH depending your speed/non-stock tires/age-of-car/etc.... That's one reason why you get some leeway in speeds, but you were ~15mph over according to your own admission.

Also, whoever said this:

"The ticket could get thrown out on these issues alone. Tickets usually need to be spot on, so if you do fight it, make sure to point out these errors. "

Ticket's can be way off, he can have all kind of details wrong, but if the officer can say "It was him right there (points to you), and he was in a brown late 80's Caprice Classic" the ticket can have just about everything else wrong. If he says that and you were in a Sharp Citruse Kitchenette Green '76 Nova, your off the hook.

There are many ways to get out of a ticket, but if you were actually speeding, what possible 'honest' motivation could you have?
