Fausts in rtcw are absurd. The weapon was designed to take out vehicles. How many tanks, half-tracks, self-propelled artillery, or armored cars do you see running around? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the faust was given only AP ammo, not HE or HEAT. Therefore these big area-of-affect blasts faust-rounds give off is unrealistic.
The American bazooka, on the other hand, was more designed for urban war-fare with HEAT rounds or plain HE rounds. It was also slow to fire, heavy and innacurate beyond 40-50 yards. The british PIAT was stupid from the start. Who is going to fire something with a spring for gods sakes?
RTCW should use the PIAT. It's affective range was about 12 yards (exageration). It's damage was probably equivelant to a grenade (but a shaped charge). I forget the actual statistics, but it was like 1 in 4 didn't fire because of a faulty spring mechanism, or that the concussion-capped tip wouldn't trigger on impact. It has this stupid 'Shhplaainnnggkkk' sound too when the round is sprung from the tube.
I think it would be great to see this guy turn a corner, pull his PIAT up, 'Shhplaainnnggkk' a round at you, and this dud land at your feet. BAHAhahhahhahha.
Fausts are stupid. Anyone who uses one is cheap.
