What happened on Aug. 27th?

According to Xapphire's (formerly Matrix Net Systems) weekly internet reachability chart , there was a spectacular slowdown on Aug 27th (last wednesday). I can't find any news about it. Was it a resurgence of SoBig, of Blaster?

the only thing that happend that i know of was that mars was as close as it was going to get for a nother 2000 years

Word has it that there was a new version of the blaster worm called Naichi (sp?) that came out around that time. Also, I've seen a resurgence of both the original blaster and the deborm worms.....

yea i heard that they caught a guy who made a new version of it, but they're still looking for the guy who originally created it...i heard it on the radio
