Questions about playing Half Life 2
When does Half Life 2 come out? Is that game going to be similar to RTCW?

to give you a straight forward answer, the official release date from valve is sept 30. It is rumored that the release date is going to be pushed back to november, or possibly even to february of next year.
as far as comparing it to rtcw, I dont even think they are comparable. HL2's single player game will be far superior to rtcw's. Hl2's intilal multiplayer options probably wont be team and objective based like rtcw. You mightt not enjoy HL2's multiplayer if that's what you are looking for. There will be a heavy modding community, that will most likley release something similar to rtcw multiplayer for HL2.

I even didn't know that an HL2 wass planned...
IS there a HL2 that must come out? Cool. Single player version of HL was simply great. I hope they'll keep the same concept (ok, more beautiful I hope) in the 2...
Wait and see....

According to an article that was on slashdot earlier, you're going to need one heck of a powerhouse to run HL2 with decent settings. I just hope my 3Ghz and lowly geforce 4 4600 are enough.
with that setup you should be able to run it at a decent resolution and pretty high settings. Obviously you wont be able to use any of the games direct x9 features though.
