Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

The performance is not that big of a boost:

Certain areas will get a boost, others will not. Basicly, besides gaming, do nto expect much of a boost. That is not that great of a deal. The good thing is they are gearing it towards gaming, and nothign else. so at least they are honest about it.

Ive seen those benches before. All the game results in that link show big boosts in performance. To be honest the only reason I upgrade hardware is to play games faster. All other stuff runs fine.

And again, from the Willy core to the Northwood, all benches went up. Remember, the Willy core was being beat out by P3's in numerous business benches.

Over all, like I originaly stated, there is not that great of a boost.

Key word: over all.

Repeat: over all.

Gaming: good.

Over all: not so special.

and again ill state that business benches mean nothing to me. Im a gamer from head to toe. I dont care about overall performance, I just care about gaming performance. Granted, I would never spend $925 for the EE. But I would be willing to upgrade to 1mb l2 p4s in the future.

Is there a dead horse emoticon?

I was originally speaking of overall, saying overall it is not that great of a boost. You rebutted that by saying gaming benches show otherwise. You are speaking of something different than I was.

Basicly, there was absolutely no point in your rebuttal in the first place, since you are talking about somkething else.

Continuing it is pointless, as you are still not on the topic I was.

K... this is my last post in this thread I promise. I just want to clear up our misunderstanding. We somehow got confused on this thread.

You are stressing over all performance, But that wasnt what we were discussing in the first place. Go back and read the thread. MMmmgood and I were discussing about which would be better for GAMING performance. You then came in and said that they would show very little improvement. Well since the discussion at hand was gaming, I assumed you were talking about gaming also. That is why I said that all the gaming benches I had seen had shown a pretty decent performance boost. For Some reason you still wanted to keep going back to overall performance, which wasnt the debate at the time. I hope you can see why I kept going back to gaming performance? If not, then Im sorry for wasting your time.
