Rockstar and Remedy have today announced that Max Payne 2 has gone golden, and hitting shops as planned, on October 15th:

"With Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Remedy has done an incredible job in raising the bar for technical innovation and creating a truly superb cinematic experience," said Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games. "With two and a half years invested in this project, the results exceeded even our high expectations. Everyone at Rockstar is eagerly anticipating the reaction of gamers around the world when it hits the streets."
"Working with the vast array of talent and resources that Rockstar Games brings to the table, we've been able to push the production values to an incredibly high level in Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne," said Petri Jarvilehto, lead game designer at Remedy Entertainment. "We are confident we've created a strong successor to the first game that pushes the envelope on cinematic action and intense storytelling."

The European version will be out October 24th, with the Playstation II and Xbox versions out December 3rd.

max payne 1 was a great game but it was to mutch of the same never really something exiting that you could discover afther a couple of maps

i got tired of the game afther 2 weeks don't know if this new game is any better but the graphics look even better

i can't really see the face of max but he was damn ugly in the 1st

max payne 2 will be a great game for a week or 2 till its cleared and beaten on the hardest level then it will lose all its luster (unless a kick ass multiplayer was coming ). i must say i do look forward to playing it looks like eyecandy.

i hope the game will be more of a addictive then the first cause i got tired of it really quick. allways the same moves not that they weren't really cool cause they were.

but all the levels started to look the same and i stopped playing it if i look true my collection of games it will be very good hidden under a pile of dust.
