*bump* - Buli, how are you liking the Catalyst 3.8 drivers?

I've downloaded but not installed yet.

I have all options cranked up both inside BF as well as HIGH performance in the 3D tab, AA / ASF etc

Buli, you're using the Omega's right? Are you using the newest ones (which have some unofficial Dell driver in 'em)?

Last time I ran Omega's it was a royal pain, lots of issues, but may have been caused by some other conflict. I think I'm gonna drop a new install of XP in soon.....

I can't speak for Buli, but I'm now running the plain-jane ATI drivers. At first, both 1942 and SW were crashing to desktop immediately. After a couple of reboots it seemed to clear up. Working well now.

I tried those leaked Dell editions and they worked well in all but one game. I'm finally getting around to playing Baldur's Gate 2, and the dell version didn't play well with it. BF was fine, but I switched back to Omega's version of the official 3.8's.

Also if you hjaving any issues, ATI nows includes and uninstall utility with their drivers. Run it to clean out all the ATI grabage and then reinstall. That'll usually clear up any issues witj seemingly fine drivers.

I've read in alot of other forums about the cat 3.8's causing a slight delay on boot-up of xp due to it loading two exe's/services. Do you guys notice this (both the vanilla-ATI and Omega users)? Just curious.....
