New Return of the King details
TheOneRing.net has uncovered that the running time for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, opening December 17, looks to be 210 minutes - about 3 hours and 30 minutes

So, if we do the math right, we have the Fellowship of the Ring EE at about 3 hours 30 minutes, the Two Towers EE at about 3 hours 45 minutes. I'll make my best guess and say that there's probably 45 minutes of stuff that they'll put back into Return of the King for its EE release making it 4 hours and 15 minutes, add all that up, and we have one Lord of the Rings masterpiece clocking in at 11 hours and 30 minutes. *drool...*

You should check you local theaters and see if they're doing a midnight showing on the 16th (technically it's still the 17th, but it feels like the 16th). I would go and do that but I'll be in the thick of final exams, so I've got a feeling that I'll have one the next morning. Ugh.

There are usually several theaters around that have the midnight showing. I usually opt for the 12 noon showing the first day though. The theater is mostly empty, since it is during the day, so I get my choice of seat and I also get the matinee price.

I almost pissed myself, I had a jumbo jumbo soda and the movie was 3 hours (star wars one of the episodes I or II)
