Holy crap, that is a really nice price. I wish I was in the market for a harddrive, but I really need a new mobo way before harddrive. I have a 7200rpm but its 2mb cache. I want a mobo and a 9800Pro first, and DDR400 all of which I'm going to slave my ass off at work for.

I have the 80 gig version of that HD and the other day I got a warning to back up all my data from the S.M.A.R.T system in my mobo, not sure if i should worry because it happened before with a diffrent HD of mine that put in my wife's PC and it seems to be working fine:confused:

Damn, that is a nice price. Though I don't have the money and don't need the space at the moment. When I built my new computer this summer I bought a 120 Gig to use as the primary drive (windows, programs, games) and a 180Gig to use as the secondary drive (storage, movies, mp3's). Both are WD special edition drives and both seem to be working great.

jesus. just how many mp3's and pics can a person have? i have an 80 gig drive that only has 15 gigs used. only reason i bought an 80 gigger was i wanted the 8mb cache.

bunch 'a pack rats :)

Heh, I don't nearly have either drives full. Only have about 20 Gigs used on the 120 and 50 on the 180. I do rip all my cd's to the computer though. I also like to rip them at a rate equal or greater than 192kbps. I like good quality mp3's :D Plus I download lots of DJs' Live sets.

for you broke porno collectors...seen this on Anandtech's hot deals forum. not as big of a drive as the WD, but hella cheap.

Maxtor 120GB 7200RPM Internal HD w/8MB Buffer - $50 after rebate@ BestBuy the day after Thanksgiving.

Go with the SATA WD RAPTOR. This thing smokes any HD I have ever had. BF42 has never loaded this fast!! My old C drive was an 80 gig. maxtor w/ 2m cache. I use the RAPTOR as my new c and the maxtor as file storage on D. I need to watch out on how much data I transfer from the Raptor to the Maxtor now because of the low buffer. I have gotten errors because I tried to transfer too much data at once.
