I went for the 12:01am Wednesday show, at AMC Courtney Park, a local theatre in my area. There were full 5 theatres showing it, seating began at 8pm Tuesday. I got there at 9:30pm, sat in my seat with friend for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Some people waited in line since 7pm Tuesday, crazy...

There were many endings like may have guessed and reported... it is such an emotional movie, so many ppl, the guys and girls all around me cried, even me... the majority were college/university students, young people (guess exams are over) who filled the theatres...

This movie is the movie of the decade I swear... it better go on to win many awards because it is that great...

And guess what, you get to see Smeagol in his regular Hobbit form in the beginning, prior to him finding the ring...and his brother, Deagle.

I can't wait for the extended version to be released on DVD...

The saga is over...*sigh* Ah well, the Hobbit will come out in a few years, but it won't have the same scope and imagination this trilogy have had I 'm guessing.

No, the hobbit is not as good as LOTR IMO... it's just not as fleshed out, not as well scripted, not as epic...

Think of the difference between "A Fistful of Dollars" and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"... Dollars, while a good movie, just doesn't have everything that GBU has going for it... the music, the subject, the villains, the story... this is why GBU is considered an all time classic, while Dollars is only considered a pretty good movie...

As a side note to this, "A Fistful of Dollars" was a remake of the Akira Kurosawa movie "Yojimbo" (japanese for "bodyguard")... and it was remade again a few years back as "Last Man Standing"... mostly just the settings changed, from 18th century japan, to the old west, to the '30s... everything else is pretty similar...

Can't wait to see ROTK... within the next few days :)

BAH! The Hobbit will be a much better movie. Frodo is a little whiney pansy who's constantly belly aching. Maybe thats appropriate for the modern caring society but I want a protagonist with some balls who isn't afraid to be a man (er hobbit?).

Bilbo hopefully will be played by a good actor and not some kind who looks like his boyfriend just snuck up behind him and gave him a surprise. I normally don't indulge in stereotypes but this guy just screams "I AM A FAG!" with his pouty boy eyes.

And besides, there will tons of Dwarves instead of those pansy elves! Everyone knows Dwarves beat Elves hands down!

I've watched the first two movies and am seeing the third tonight and I haven't seen a bearded elf woman yet!

Dwarf women have beards! ROCKIN!

I think the Hobbit definitely adds alot to the Lord of the Rings, though, because especially if you read it first, you get a better understanding of what it is that's at stake. You see things how hobbits see them, then when LOTR comes about, realize that conflict is so much darker than the nice and easy journey of the Hobbit. Plus, it just seems like the Hobbit is ready made to be a movie.
