Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Loved it.
The ending was for the most part true to the book, but did just not flow well. Several times the screen would fade to black, you would expect the credits to roll, and another scene would start.

I saw it last night. I liked it as much as the first two, except the ending was drawn out too far. I would have cut down the good byes and added to other parts of the story.

Ack! I've only got a couple more hours. These past four days have been a wait, but I hope it'll be worth it.

Really? I wish they had made it longer, I wouldn't mind watching 4 hours of it!
I'd go see this a 3rd time, and maybe a 4th if someone was paying for me hehe...

It wasn't the length of the movie, just the length of the 'good bye's.' It was the opnly time I was thinking 'is this ending soon?'

All of these movies are great and have already acheived classic status.
It would be impossible to create these films w/ every minute detail from the book. Besides only people with true grit would sit through them.
If you have not read the 'Silmarillion' it answers tons of questions you probably have. It's the history of Elves and Middle Earth.
I encourage anyone to read all of these books...I also have a set 'The History of LOTR' and gives details of how the story developed...character changes....etc.
Glad I was around for these movies.

Anyone who can figure out where this is wins a prize, and no its not Bagginses house.

I
wish it was my house! Anyways, it's the Wellington International Airport. That Gollum used to be over the Embassy Theater for the release of The Two Towers, but they moved it to the airport and put these giant Nazgul statues over the Theater. What's my prize?

Oh yeah, I saw it, too. Finally. Unfriggin'believable. Bar none, the best movie I've ever seen period. I just have to say that I'm very, very thankful that they've spent this much time on these movies and done as much as they did. The potential for them ultimately screwing this up was huge. I need to sit back and let it absorb before I write anything else about it. What an experience.

It was visual overload, easily the most amazing battle scenes put on film. I found it inspirational too the way the characters when faced with overwhelming odds again and again chose to to flat out take the fight right to their enemy. No whimpering, cowering etc, it was always 'yeah we're gonna die, but we are going to bleed the hell of out them first' Some many characters, big and small, were just so badass it made me want to just jump up and kick some evil person's ass (there's never an evil person around when you need one!)
I was 8 yrs old when Star Wars 1st came out and this trilogy really is the equal of that one, in terms of pure entertainment, mythology, and spirituality.
