Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

How about NE Ohio on a 44 foot Viking yatch with a trip to the best ammusement park in the world(Cedar Point)?
Sorry to tantalize, she'd never allow it.

Or, maybe we have the connections to pull down a group tour of Digital Illusion's studios.

Hahah. Yeah.. let's have it in ECGN's hosting center. No whining about network lag or your dsl sucks.

Buli's original idea about an ECGN get-together is a really good one. A lot of ideas, some in-jest, have been bantered around.
Is there any chance we can make some real progress on this topic? I have two suggestions for getting this thing off the ground.
1) Create a poll to see who is SERIOUSLY considering attending. As has been mentioned by Rule, etc., this isn't like signing up for a Battle of the Regulars. This involves REAL commitment and a cash outlay.
2) If the poll indicates that enough people are SERIOUS, let's select a person to head up a committee, select committee members, select a site, and get the ball rolling.
As I've previously mentioned, I'd be happy to assist on a committee but I think an ECGN "official" should be 'in charge' of the event planning.
Suggested Poll (draft wording, needs to be refined):
If an ECGN get-together were held, would you SERIOUSLY consider attending?
1) Yes, location is irrelevant. I'm super rich and I have time to burn.
2) Yes, if I could find inexpensive airfare
3) Yes, if it's within driving distance
4) Maybe but probably not
5) No. Seeing you guys in-person is not a personal goal.
I think that if we don't start making real progress, this is going to die.

Per hightimber's suggestion, here's a little poll to gauge the potential interest in a get-together this summer (or whenever).

Please, please answer this poll honestly. I know things change but try to reason this through before you answer. Folks will be genuinely upset if 100 people say "count me in" and only 3 show up.

Will there be beer and/or girls?
Also is the plan just to meet in a room, call people by there ingame names and use the word "lol" in conversation with actual human beings?
The only way I'd ever be interested in this is if you organized some activity like a huge paintball game. Or if your like me (poor

) some massive Lasertron game probably a huge ass arena one somewhere.
Other then that this is a bad idea.

I am not sure how one could call it a bad idea????
When friends meet irl just to hang out, is that a bad idea?
Heck, my mother has been friends with someone for 30 years and they live in different states. When they meet with each other they could just sit in a room and chat and do nothing else but enjoy each others company.
O well, to each their own.

Calling this a "bad idea" might be a little harsh, Musashi. And I don't think we're quite to the "what are we going to actually do?" stage yet. The idea is just to see if people want to actually get together at all. Nobody should feel obligated to come, and certainly shouldn't feel forced to do anything they don't want to.
And if you want to do paintball or lasertag or something, there are plenty of places here in the DC area...

I think Musashi has a bleak outlook on our capacity to have a good time. Although I quasi-agree with him on the idea that we should have it someplace that is inherently fun, (i.e. Las Vegas).
I'm not rich with money to burn, but a relative in the airline industry does land me free airfare anywhere in the world, and I'm dying to take a vacation. So, if we can organize this someplace interesting, I'm 100% definitely coming, ceterus paribus.
