Well, i spelled it wrong, if that is what you mean. If not, it is boating, on a yacht, or yachting.

Is there any chance we can make some real progress on this topic? I have two suggestions for getting this thing off the ground.
1) Create a poll to see who is SERIOUSLY considering attending. As has been mentioned by Rule, etc., this isn't like signing up for a Battle of the Regulars. This involves REAL commitment and a cash outlay.
2) If the poll indicates that enough people are SERIOUS, let's select a person to head up a committee, select committee members, select a site, and get the ball rolling.
As I've previously mentioned, I'd be happy to assist on a committee but I think an ECGN "official" should be 'in charge' of the event planning.
Suggested Poll (draft wording, needs to be refined):
If an ECGN get-together were held, would you SERIOUSLY consider attending?
1) Yes, location is irrelevant. I'm super rich and I have time to burn.
2) Yes, if I could find inexpensive airfare
3) Yes, if it's within driving distance
4) Maybe but probably not
5) No. Seeing you guys in-person is not a personal goal.
I think that if we don't start making real progress, this is going to die.
I agree with the pole idea, I'm not super rich, however If I am not working I will be there regardless of location. I would prefer a central location to everyone who commits to attending, or someplace like Vegas (big city lots to do). Start a poll!!!

I, like Rule, have many priorities above the meeting that I think is a great idea. I will follow the thread but could not make a positive commitment until the time is at hand.

How about instead of just meeting up and hanging out, we play some real life "paintball" battlefield...

The committee idea definitely needs to get up and running. I too would be willing to help with planning in anyway possible. One idea that just came to me, we need to schedule two chat sessions. One chat session for those interested in contributing to the planning committee. That includes people interested in heading the committee as well as people just wanting to put in their two cents. The other chat session needs to consist of everyone interested in attending. During the second chat, the few choices the committee finally decided on, will be presented. then after the the chat, e-mail the "vote counter" your decision. The second chat time/ date/ and location should be posted on the server. Again, this is just an idea, but I think that would definitely help put this idea in motion. We will have to sacrifice some Battlefield time in order to attend these chat sessions, but it is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make. Tell me what you think.

Las Vegas would be very cost efficient if you wanted to do a convention type set-up. Everything there for groups is very cheap because the casino's don't really care about your staying there so much as you visiting their casino.
However comma butt
I am just thinking there might be a wee distraction or two involved in hanging out in Vegas.

's!
and free drinks in the casino's while you gamble (if you are old enough) If you do that play cheap slots and tip your waitress well and you will get well and truly hammered.
