To whom it may concern:
I was kicked from ECGN#1 a couple of times on 1-11-04 between 3AM and 5AM for doing 2 things:
1. Being a sniper...yeah i was in TeamSpeak with another player on that server, and I was being picked off by a sniper, so I tried to snipe him, and got kicked for: Being a sniper...reason why I know is cuz the player in TeamSpeak told me that the person who kicked me (and my buddy soon after) said something to the effect of "Damn faggot snipers" or somesuch...he was whining at being picked off by snipers:violin:
2. Sailing an aircraft carrier...I was sailing a carrier on Midway, and one of my AA gunners shot down a teammate...so the kickhappyguy kicked him...and then me?!?!?
Anyways, I've only had BF1942 for 2 weeks now, and I know I'm still a noob, but the attitude held by the ECGN member on that server was atrocious...I didn't even get a reply when I logged back in and asked why I was kicked:confused: So, I lost my patience, and said "UP YOURS TO THE KICK HAPPY WHINEY BABY", and promptly logged off.
I consider playing on ANYONE'S server to be a priveledge, but I disagree with abusing the KICK button...
Maybe I'll see you people when I'm in R Clan:flame:

I kicked a bunch of snipers because there was too many on the team, as we often do. When there are 10 snipers on a team of 26, which is losing because it doesn't have flags, it gets ridiculous. It had nothing to do with the comment you mentioned because I was not playing, and I didn't hear the comment.

No. You were driving the carrier around to places it was getting shot at, like near the island, and using it to capture sea flags, all without the protection of the rest of the fleet, which usually gets it sunk and can make your team lose. And, planes trying to get off the deck kept crashing because you were sailing it full speed and turning. I sent you multiple warnings to get the carrier parked far away from the action, which you either didn't receive because of chat lag, or didn't want to obey.
Our attitude was correct and I never saw your question because of chat lag. This is a 64-player server and we don't have time for a friendly chat with everyone. With the upcoming 1.6 patch, chat lag will be fixed and we won't have to resort to kick players in order to get their attention.

Sgt FuRy you definately started this thread in the wrong manner. You are a noob so you might not know why some people are kicked and why.READ THE RULES. However, When you attack one of the fairest Admins on the server you not only are a noob you are not very bright. I suggest you learn the ropes before you come out swinging,or you will soon find yourself on the EA server with the rest of the noobs!

1st of all, this is what I read:Server Rules
It says nothing about too many snipers, nor does it say how to sail the carrier.
Although, I do understand the problem of having too many snipers, but at least 3 of the ones on my team were idle...just standing there...I had just taken out one of the snipers that was by our main base, and was on my way to getting another one when you kicked me...I don't just go into servers being a sniper...I've barely got the hang of artillery, so I'm usually an engineer/support person, and it just seemed like you didn't want any snipers out there, and that's fine, but did you ever try to figure out WHY I became one? I did it for a reason, and the person in TS with me said there were 6 snipers on the other team....Maybe you kicked them too, but kicking me actually hurt our team, because I was stopping their snipers from spawn killing us in our base...it was what I thought was the logical reaction, but I'm a noob, and I'm trying to learn here.
Yes I did sail it near the island ONCE. Reason is because they took one of the buouys that I was sailing for, and in the route I took, I saw an enemy destroyer, so I turned lengthwise away from it to give it a harder target to hit, but I got it back out to sea, and I never once got sunk. I recall our planes destroying many of the artillery placements, so I took that chance...and it was paying off...except one thing: I didn't know about the top cruiser speed making it difficult for planes to take off. That was my first time driving a ship, and all I've ever seen ppl do with them is sail around the island from one buoy to another...so, in essence, I thought I was doing the logical thing by staying on the move, and claiming the buoys. And like I said...it was one of the noobs that was on an AA gun on my carrier that shot our planes...he kept doing it, and I even tried to say something...so, I wasn't the one on that ship that was deliberately killing my teammates. Rest assured, guys, I do have a bit of tactical knowledge, and even though I don't know everything about the game, every time you see me out there, I'm trying the best I can to help my team...just like it says in your rules. Not to mention, no one on our team was sailing our destroyer except for the last couple of minutes I was on the server.
2nd of all, i'm not trying to "come out swingin'", cuz I hoped you people would at least understand that I'm a noob--I meant this to be more light than YOU are construing it to be.
But most of all, never have I gotten any help on how to play this game from anyone...I've had it for 2 weeks, and the only comments I get from people is "You're a noob.":
Don't expect me to be really happy after getting kicked! Just remember, you were a noob, too. The time I spent on your server that night, was open play, nothing but 2/3s noobs, it wasn't a clan match, it wasn't your practice night or anything. It just seemed like if ppl didn't play the way YOU wanted us to, then they got kicked. If you don't want any noobs on your server, then I suggest you password it, and give that password to ppl you don't have to worry about kicking. I'm there to play, I'm not there to cause admins to have to stop playing and start kicking. I think the admin should be able to enjoy the game too. Admins do a good job of keeping cheaters and stuff off servers, and once again, I consider it a priveledge to play on your server, so I'm not just the ass hole out there that wants to cause problems for ppl in the BF community. All I'm saying is I think someone had a bit too much of a knee-jerk reaction (which is justified, cuz I see what ppl that are noobier than me do), and kicked a person that was really trying his hardest to do the best he could for the team.

Jeffro, this is an admin issue. And no, it's not the same Sgt. Fury.
Sgt FuRy, there is no way for us to tell between an idiot who drives the carrier to the beach or out of the map for fun, and a new player who doesn't really know what to do with it. We have to react quickly to prevent it from being destroyed. This is a big server, regular players are very good and VERY serious, and we can't take the chance of someone ruining the whole match for everyone else. While you can learn a lot here, this is not a good server to learn the basics.
As for sniper kicking, we just kick all of them but the 3 or 4 top ones. It's impossible to be more discriminate. Please learn to check how many there already are before spawning as one. None of this was specifically directed against you.
There is technically no way right now to send warnings or answer your questions in-game because of the chat lag, this will come with patch 1.6.
What you CAN do however, is join us on the Teamspeak server, using your mike and headset. Then you will have vocal 2-way communication with great players and you will learn a lot.
Remember, you were not banned, just kicked. Get over it and hop back in.

Thank you! I'm not sweatin' it. I was sure that the situation you described was what was really going on. I just really want to get better at the game, so thank you again for your patience!

I wouldn't sweat it. I've been kicked several times myself (before I became a regular). I was kicked by one of the admins who was capping (taking) a flag. I was racing up in a jeep to take the flag and accidentaly ran over him.. (he jumped out in front of me.. I swear!) LOL
Anyway, I was ticked but I got over it. I agree with some of the above comments about listening on TS and watching other players. The players/regulars here are very serious. I would suggest that if you want to learn to fly or shoot artilery (sp.) then practice on another server.
I've played with/against Chacal and he's a great guy. Funny too. He does a great job as admin (and so do the other admins). I think he's fair to eveyone.
One more thing.. just try and have fun. It's just a game. If you get kicked don't take it personally. If you're just starting out I would recommend playing assualt or medic, both are good balanced choices.
Look forward to playing against you.

Not an admin here but i was asking the admin's on the allies side for some help during that map because 1) the teams were 37 allies to 25 allies and 2) 12 of them were snipers. So thats why i was glad to see them getting kicked. I even mentioned that if your a sniper and hit ALT-F4 it enables an awesome cheat and 2 snipers promptly got disconnected

This is what I meant when I said "come out swinging" I was only using the term NOOB after you yourself used it. Up to that point you hadn't asked for any help, However, after the previous posts please feel free to pm me and I would be willing to give you some pointers on some do's and dont's that might make your time on the battlefield more enjoyable. Please look into getting teamspeak as this is a very valuable learning tool.

Wow, thank you guys so much for the help! I'm really frustrated sometimes, but I always remind myself that I'm still a noob!!! So, I try to be patient, and I don't mind being humbled by getting kicked in order to get my attention.
I would never intentionally do anything to get kicked from a server, but I've also seen some ghey stuff happen to me and other people out there, so I'm glad that there are rules to abide by, and I patiently await the new patch. I apologize for doing anything that would get me kicked, cuz up until now, I figured ppl thought of me as a noob that doesn't at least teamkill...lol
