Be skeptical of ALL news.

The guy interviewed is pretty knowledgable about the middle east and I would hazard to guess that he is better informed than the average reporter.

And I would be tickled pink if this is not true. We don't need crap like this happening but I can see the Iranian ruling clerical body going for a wag the dog scenario. They are some ripe bastards and don't care about their people.

Many politicians don't seem to actually care, so thats not really saying much.

This would be an interesting development, and I hope to god it isn't actually happening. You'd think everyone would have more sense than that.

As much as I'm not a fan of network news, FOX News definitely takes the helm of the biggest joke to journalism. They probably took that entire interview way out of context. Network news programs do that constantly.

I pretty much agree with ya Bagginses. I try to get as many sources for news as I can. One of the channels on my cable box that I actually enjoy checking out from time to time is Newsworld International. Based in Canada, it has news stories from varied local sources around the world.

If anything, it at least keeps me up to date with random stuff the networks would never cover about things going on in Germany or Japan or even Canada. I'm not quite sure on how great the all around journalism is yet, but I find it very interesting.

For grab bag all around stuff I mainly just use fark.com.

I love it when CNN.com rushes out a story to try and get it up before everyone else, and it's just full of typos and horrible writing. Around September 11th last year, they had some silly article about a radical Islamic group in the UK and the very first sentence (practically the subheadline) stated that it was an "Islamist radical group." Yep. Reminds me of the time someone told me that one of their friends was "Arabic." "Uhh, Arabic is a language, not an ethnicity." Funny stuff, if fairly annoying.

Exactly. She used it as a noun, i.e. "My friend is an Arabic." Either way it's also correct to say "My friend is an Arab" over "My friend is Arabic."

The way you first used it in your previous post was correct.

"...one of their friends was Arabic."

It is also correct to say "My friend is Arabic".

"Mr friend is an Arab" is not 'more correct'.

Its all semantics

For instance

The word Semite, as in anti-semitism, is actually a word to describe tribes and clans that are from the middle east. in essence most of the Palastinians, the Jordanians, The Syrians, The Egyptians AND the Israeli's are Semites. So how can most of the middle eastern nations be "anti-semitic" in their hatred of the Jews? Thats like me going to a WASP and saying I hate you because you are white.

Semantics? Some Antics?

Actually "God" of the christian religion is the Egyptian god Aten. He's kind of the Odin all-father of the Egyptian pantheon.

I believe it was Ramses the 1st? that forbade worship of Aten because he felt that particular church had to much power. He unilaterally forbade the worship of Aten and promoted Horus and other gods in his stead.

Obviously the priests of Aten took this poorly and the worship of Aten sunk down and hid among the "slave" culture that was the Hebrews. Since the worship of Aten was a death sentence he became the god with no name which eventually lead to Yahweh.

So basically the christian religion worships a Jewish feller that is the son of an Egyptian god.
