Weasel, what mobo you running? maybe 3dmark03 has some issue with that chipset? or with the chipset drivers? I mean, you've got a 2800+, I've got a 3000+......and I score almost 500points higher on cpu?!! what's Sandra score your proc at?

Edit: just ran both myself, to give you some comparison numbers...

Arth. = 7976/3303
Muliti. = 19240/19359

Doh!

What am I running that you're not? I think I need that NMS service for my LAN but I suspect you'd know more than I on this topic.

Ok, I stated in a separate thread that I my video card was being under-used and so I realized I had the AGP setting set too low and I changed that and my Battlefield experience has been substantially improved. However, 3dmark score after I changed the AGP speed has been lower than it was before. About a 100 points lower. Can anyone explain that?

3dmark is retarded? :P

What AGP setting did you change? (I can't remember the thread....feeling to lazy to find it :) )

You still running stock speeds?

Also, I don't remember what Cat's that was...I'll re-run tomorrow and see if the numbers change any....

Wed Mar 31, 2004 12:14 am

nah, I'm running it at 432/363

I can't believe how far the 2.4 is overclocking though-it's over 800mhz and is stable. gotta love the C-steppers :D

Wed Mar 31, 2004 12:23 am

Yeah, I wish I could scrape together some cash, the mobile Bartons are overclocking fiends, hitting 2700MHz regularly. That coupled with this wicked memory I have, and I could fly (I'm memtest86 stable up to 230MHz 11-3-2-2.0, and might be able to get more with relaxed timings. Just can't get this damn 3000 to be stable at that speed without excessive voltage.).

Ps, the 1U cooler mod is a piece of cake to do. Looks nice, too :D

Wed Mar 31, 2004 12:34 am

did you install the cooler? 1U cooler mod...never heard of that before

Any suggestions on what I should oc the vid card or the processor?
