For all you haters
Many players on ecgn believe that there are tons of hackers that play on ecgn - that really isnt the case. I think all the time that i've played there have ran into only a few of people who hack - most of the time its just someone with a better shot.
There are a few of you who CONSTANTLY blame better players on their own failings. Stop making excuses ("oh he hacks/centerview/tweaks/etc.) These few suggestions i have here are for you and for all of the other players on ecgn who want to improve their shot and their game.
1. Improving your shot. Once upon a time a legendary wolf player made a guide that truly does explain in depth on how to adjust your shot to your own personal preferences. Improving your shot will improve your game big time - especially since this is a pub and not competition gaming.

I recently watched this and it changed my shot - i used to play with mouse accel - it was great b/c it was most similar to how i aimed in osp (with a sens changing script). But my shot lacked consistency b/c of it and that coupled with the fact that i'm a fairly streaky player didn't ride so well with me.
2. Wolf sense. Half of you all run around completely oblivious to the people around you, whether they are allies or enemies. If you are constantly hovering around or below a 1.0 kr i recommend you start recording your games while you play and then later watching them and seeing what things you missed and what you can improve on. Speccing better players gives you a good start on how to play better, but looking at your own self play can tell you a hell of a lot more. One thing that may help is when you look at your recordings change your fov and or resolution to a higher setting and see if you are missing things b/c yours is too low.
Also wearing headphones helps immensely. Having them can easily make the difference from you winning a 1v1/1v2 or not. Being able to hear your enemy helps you limit the area in which you need to have your crosshair when running around a corner or into a room.
Sprint is another thing i think many players underestimate. Being concious of where your meter is and what that can get you is invaluable. For instance, unless you are sure there isn't any enemy in the next room or around the corner you should always sprint a little bit as you walk around the corner or through a doorway. Making yourself harder to hit can be half the battle in a 1v1.
3. Tweaking. First off the whole notion of tweaking is laughable to me. The fact that one adjusts legal settings to fit their personal preferences so it's more comfortable for them to play the game is and should be perfectly fine. To me legal means cal settings. To you all it may mean server settings. Either way they are all legal. FOR YOU HATERS - some of you may think you are better people for NOT using a config - keep telling yourself that cause no one else really cares to hear it. Don't tell us how much we suck after we dominate you.

One thing you notice is that my config is pretty bright. Wolf naturally is a pretty dark game and b/c of that it is generally hard to see enemies far off or through mesh etc. Visibility of your enemy is key.
Now I'm not claiming to be the greatest shot, i know there are players better then me for sure. I'm just posting this b/c i constantly get shit about hacking when i get on ecgn, and the fact that that happens means that the people doing it arent that skilled. I want people to get better at this game - despite what you think its really not that fun raging nubs. I, like most of you enjoy a good challenge.

One thing you notice is that my config is pretty bright. Wolf naturally is a pretty dark game and b/c of that it is generally hard to see enemies far off or through mesh etc. Visibility of your enemy is key.
Now I'm not claiming to be the greatest shot, i know there are players better then me for sure. I'm just posting this b/c i constantly get shit about hacking when i get on ecgn, and the fact that that happens means that the people doing it arent that skilled. I want people to get better at this game - despite what you think its really not that fun raging nubs. I, like most of you enjoy a good challenge.

Your config, is what I pretty much use, I love it bright and plain jane (but I do play on a 50 inch plasma, its funny, my game is not pretty at all)....can't lock my fps tho for some reason on ECGN server, in my config it says 125, but on server goes up to 300, I tried reloaded ect ect...just weird it only happens on Server here tho

Only an OSP player would bother posting this crap on a forum for a 64 man 24/7 Beach server this late in the day in the history of wolf.
I hope there are loads of cheaters that play here, I luv it because when you hook up with team mates or those on vent you can play really good games, fukk the Kill Ratio and fukk the stat whores.
When a good shooter posts some tips i'll be sure to have a look.
Raziel hakks, get him on here when the server has 40 odd with 15 specs, lets see his warp.
Headphones will damage your hearing in the long run but they are good for wolf.
If you sprint/strafe/burst fire you get an extra bullet just the ticket before you crouch an OSP hs bawbag.
Have no doubt that 60 per cent of this game is connection pure and simple then it's skill then it's tweaks. I have always taken my hat off to the admins here for having the guts to run unlag, something which their euro counterparts are too scared to do even though their server numbers are dwindling by the day because heaven forbid you get killed by a 150 pinger, how could you live with the shame, more stat whores.

Regarding Slaughter's FPS:
Make sure your com_maxfps setting is the same in both configs (the one in Main and the one in shrubmod folders - or in your autoexec.cfg file if you have it in there) If you only have it in the shrubmod folder it won't take effect until a vid_restart because it's a latch cvar (as opposed to a regular 'instant-on' cvar)
I set the unlag setting in there mainly because we have players from all over the world and it helps even the field for them a bit with their high pings. I think Neil "Haste" Toronto's unlagged code works pretty well. The code has been integrated into several mods over the years for many different games.
