So...I'm curious to see what all the fuss about ECGN's RTCW beach server is and would like to try it out. Can someone here tell me what I would need to join in on the game? (Mods, patches, ect?)

http://www.rtcwfiles.com, and get patched to 1.41.

Well, the simplicity of the game is what makes it great.
It's a FPS, not a RPG; The idea *is* to *shoot*

thats the point i was trying to make. its the most simplistic form of an FPS. nothing like the battlefield series, since thats what he plays.

there is a certain "feel" of movement/aiming that wolf(and most quake III based games) has that I prefer over the battlefield series. Battlefield "feels" very sluggish.
